I'm sick of this "Okafor can't play D" bullshyt. Like he's not fukking 20yrs old with no chance to grow! He's still one of the better players in that draft class. Stop shading one pick to try & justify the other.:what: They could both end up being great players..

And that would be DOPE! :yeshrug:

The Truth
wrong....

the lakers listen to byron scott who wanted russell, but mitch was leaning towards okafur who should have been the pick, because u still have clarkson and next year u can go signed a top notch guard in free agency... u can't go out and get a double double big man today....
And now Rumor is that they want Deraozan:francis:

Why do nikkas speak on shyt they don't know? Mitch said HIMSELF he wanted D'angelo. That was Mitch's pick. Yea Byron wanted D'angelo which is why he hardly plays him lmao.

okafor can't play any goddamn defense. not sure why no one realizes this except that they probably haven't actually seen him play much this season, which i can't really blame you for. guy gets worked in the paint constantly. he's not a bust, but he is the next al jefferson.
He's shut down KAT twice this season...and what rookie can play defense!?!

Too many clueless posters expecting a 19 year old player to put up all star numbers 30 games into his 1st NBA season :snoop:

He's been steadily improving since his first game and that's all you ask from him at this point.

I don't think anybody was asking him to put up all star numbers now. The problem that Russell had, was that all three players in that top four ( Towns, Porzingas and Okafor) are really really good now. Porzingas is already the Knicks secondary scorer, plus he's their best Rim Protector. Okafor is already Philly number one scoring option, and Towns is Minnesota best rim protector, and maybe their number one scoring option.

:mindblown: Dude all three of those guys are fukkin giants compared to Russell. They have advantages Russell cant even dream of. You can't really compare guards to bigs in the NBA.

That's why I never get involved in the Kobe vs Tim Duncan arguments even though Kobe is the greatest offensive player I've ever seen

And of course Okafor is Philly's leading scorer. Who the hell else on that team is even good enough to play in the NBA? :pachaha: Four players tops

Russelll is twice the player okafor is. Russell is cool and calm while okafor is hot headed. Russell is confident . He is a leader and clutch. Gtfo of here with that should have picked okafor bullshyt.

The stoop with dat dope fanny padding
Marc Gasol won DPOY in 2012-13. In 2013-14, his Defended Field Goal Percentage was 48.6%, including 60.9% at less than six feet.

Okafor's Defended Field Goal Percentage right now is 48.4%, including 54.3% at less than six feet.

This season, Gasol's DFG% is 43.7%, including 55.3% at less than six feet, which is still worse than Okafor's percentages.

In 2013-14, Cousins' DFG% was 46.7%, including 57% at less than six feet. This year, he's at 43.3% and 51.9% at less than six feet.

Do you need more examples? I'm listing Cousins and Gasol's numbers well past age 20 as well.
