1. Kobe has a no trade clause.
2. Kobe makes the Lakers way too much money. He makes more money for their team than any other star in the league.
Why would you trade your cash cow?
He has a no trade clause and will retire the greatest laker of all time....the kobe era has brought the team 5 championships, so it ain't like it's some great shame if there were to be no more... and even now...17 years in, in his mid 30s...by most measures he's been no worse than the 3rd or 4th best player in the league this season...kobe's a living, breathing laker icon...he's not going anywhere during this current contract, and it's my sincerest hope that he never wears another jersey...either retiring or taking considerably less money for another year or two depending what the make up the team looks like in two years...the perfect plan was thwarted when the cp3 trade was vetoed, i have no doubt the bynum/d12 would've still happened and with pau's salary shed and replaced with the best point in the league the new laker Triumvirate would rattled off another 2 or 3 rings.. hopefully the dwight of old eventually comes back and the version we see this season is just temporary...he re-signs and we go from there
to gawd in any event...this trade talk is frivious
LWO all day, but Earvin is the Goat Laker.

Kobe gets the nod as GOAT Laker from me...by this time in his career Magic was retired for like four or five seasons already...kobe's in year 17, still putting up 30 5 and 5...he's essentially the KAJ of guards, except he's played every single game of his career in the purple and gold...by the time he hangs 'em up, he'll have been a pillar of the team for the vast majority of 2 solid decades...at least 5 chips, and singularly dominate damn near the laker record book for just about everything....GOAT Laker....I almost can't wait for Kobe to retire just so the nostalgic powers of hindsight can do what they doLWO all day, but Earvin is the Goat Laker.
