4 and Goal at the 1 and this guy runs with his head like one of the those morons running into a wall.

I remember the Chargers be up 4 scores and this guy would jump over the pile in some meaningless game vs Oakland.

4th Quarter AFC title game and he gets to scared to try something he's done his entire career

I'm really getting sickened by these made for basketball "in the playoffs" measures for running backs. Walter Payton only has two 100 yard rushing games and a sub 3.9 ypc average in the playoffs. So what? Teams focused on him.

Theres no rational thought process you can come to possibly say faulk > lt. None.

Whats next faull better than barry or emmitt or payton?? :stopitslime:

:youngsabo: You really must be a youngin' to be sleeping on Marshall Faulk like that. This man damn near won the Heisman Trophy at San Diego St. Got drafted by the Colts and beasted. Went to the Rams and completely revolutionized the RB position. He could block and catch better than LT and he was a more elusive runner with power to boot. And his football IQ was off the charts. Being a fellow Texas nikka, I got much love for LT, but I concede that prime Marshall Faulk > prime LT.

Of course he's better than Emmit Smith  Emmit Smith is the most overrated RB of all time. Cowboy stans don't wanna hear this tho.

LOL - homey even went there with "no rational thought". No way he ever saw Marshall play.

I knew Marshall was the truth when he answered questions about his ability BEASTING against the early 90's Hurricanes for 130 yards.

:umad:

As explosive as Tomlinson was, he only had like a 7 year shelf life. Emmitt was steadily producing for 12+ years. No other running back has that type of durability.
Emmitt was a freak of nature. But when I judge RBs, I dont look at years I look at carries.

Tomlinson had over 100 more carries than John Riggins did in his career. Tomlinson played 12 seasons while Riggins played 14. Riggins was considered the definition of a power back while LT was considered a more complete back.

RBs fall off when they get a certain number of touches. I dont know the number but I suspect it happened to LT sometime in the 2009 season.

What Emmitt did was freakish tho, and I doubt any RB will ever replicate that because no RB replicated that before, the closest being Walter Payton.

:ohlawd:

Don't remind me. Didn't he saying something to the effect of having extra motivation because they didn't even offer him coming outta high school?

To be as good as he was for so long, yes he was a freak. Especially since we are seeing more multiple running back offenses. Emmitt is the all time leader in carries.

:lolbron: I guess if you mean it like that. I thought you meant in terms of power and speed like Adrian Peterson, Jim Brown, Hershall Walker etc.

Emmit is alright but he ain't in my top 10 of all time RBs.

If I'm building a team, and I have a choice of all the RBs that ever played:

Jim Brown is my undisputed number one  Everybody else in no particular order.
Walter Payton
Marshall Faulk
Barry Sanders
Eric dikkerson
Bo Jackson (could've been the GOAT if he didn't get injured)
O.J.Simpson
Adrian Peterson
Gail Sayers
LaDanian Tomlinson (nikkas in this thread are hating, but LT was a monster in his prime)

I put Emmit in the next wave with Earl Campbell, Tony Dorsett, Thurman Thomas etc. I was an undrafted free agent RB myself and I know how physical the game is, so I give Emmit much props on being so tough and durable. But I'd draft those other guys before him if I was building a team.

I cant agree with those 3 names. I would actually have Tony Dorsett in before those 3 guys. Bo Jackson is just trolling, dude never had 1,000 yards rushing and you put him in top 10 of all time.
