My bad, I meant a reason that made sense/excuses that silliness.

At this point their roster is pretty much set. They're stuck with too many bad contracts. It is what it is. Their roster is good enough to beat 98% of teams in the NBA. There are no moves they any GM could make that would enable them to beat Golden State. No eastern conference team is going to trade with Cleveland to make them stronger except for the Knicks. And signing or trading for a player that's going to force Kyrie to change his game again or take shots away from him is bad. Kevin Love wasn't a good fit.

And Griffin was in the process of moving Love and bringing in the type of player (Butler, George) that would give them a better shot at GSW. Eastern teams have helped them out each of the last 3 years. Most NBA teams are incompetent/not focused on winning. Even if you have legit reason to drop Griffin, you don't do it right before the draft and twist in the wind during he most important part of the offseason.

Neither Butler or George would've been good enough to beat golden state. Making trades just to make them is stupid. A good GM would've recognized Love wasn't a good fit in the first place. A good GM would've have resigned love to a 5 year contract unless you're building a contender that can wistand LeBron leaving. Like I said. It's all best guess.

In all honesty Kyrie is acting like a hoe.

Why does he care what the media or fans think as far as calling him "Robin". He hit the game winner to bring the title to Cleveland. His stats and impact prove he's not just a Robin. They didn't called DWade Robin. Like I said before.... the ONLY logical reason Kyrie wants out is because he doesn't want to spend his career in a city like Cleveland. If they were playing in LA or Miami, he wouldn't give a shyt. Pippen was good enough to be a Number 1 option on most teams, but you never saw him demand a trade (until Jordan retired the first time). If Kyrie came out and said he hated living in Cleveland the fans would crucify him. Blaming Lebron for wanting to leave makes no sense. If Lebron never came to Cleveland, Kyrie would still try to leave. One could even say Lebron is the only reason why Kyrie even reupped in the first place.

-Dwade won a chip before Lebron came to town. His legacy as a winning Alpha was set.

-NEVER underestimate the influence of the human ego. Especially amongst Superstar athletes

- You are 150% correct in Kyrie not wanting to stay in Cleveland under that shytty ass regime. Lebron is virtually the ONLY one who can sort of force upper management to make rational decisions. If Lebron DOES leave and Kyrie signs the max their is no guarantee that Gilbert won't decide to make boneheaded move after boneheaded move while Kyrie has no leverage.

This is all Gilbert's fault. If you keep Griffin and allow him to make the moves to keep both Kyrie and Bron happy this doesn't happen, or even if it DOES then I'm sure Griffin would've known shortly before the Draft (instead of being distracted by his imminent firing) and made the PG for Kyrie trade or maybe even something better.

If you think acquiring two way wings of that caliber in this NBA is just spinning your wheels then I don't know what to tell you. The Love stuff is actually on Bron. And once you trade a top pick for a guy you pretty much have to re-sign him. Still haven't heard anything resembling a valid reason to let Griff go.

From the timeline and everything being reported, it just sounds like he was tired of being a pawn in LeBron's career saga and wanted to create a story of his own...To a guy with any kind of ego, after how he's performed in the last two finals (iconic title clincing 3, huge 40point games), to be dangled out there as trade-bait for pieces to placate LeBron and convince him to bless the franchise, city and his teammates with his continued presence instead of leaving them high and dry again with zero warning... Had to be the final slap in the face... The team didn't seem to value him as much more than a piece to be bargained away, and by implication via lack of "no way we trade kyrie, Bron would be pissed"-armour neither did LeBron... Not to say either party has some obligation to treat kyrie as a homegrown untouchable cornerstore of the team in the way that the dubbs treat Steph, but I can imagine why Kyrie thinks he's worth more as a player than to be just some random interchangeable stepping stone for LeBron to use in his strive for greatness as he goes galavanting from team to team trumping up his legacy
