No, one couldn't because Kyrie reupped before Bron came back. I find it hilarious how people are determined to blame Bron or Kyrie or even the city here and completely absolving Gilbert. My man has a history of temper tantrums when things don't go the way he wants, he's shown nothing as an owner besides willingness to spend (on players at least), he tossed a championship GM into the bushes for no good reason, the night before the draft mind you, and people don't see why players would be :whoa: about committing to this dude long term. :dead:

Yeah thats cool and all but its still Bron Bron's fault.

In all honesty Kyrie is acting like a hoe.

Why does he care what the media or fans think as far as calling him "Robin". He hit the game winner to bring the title to Cleveland. His stats and impact prove he's not just a Robin. They didn't called DWade Robin. Like I said before.... the ONLY logical reason Kyrie wants out is because he doesn't want to spend his career in a city like Cleveland. If they were playing in LA or Miami, he wouldn't give a shyt. Pippen was good enough to be a Number 1 option on most teams, but you never saw him demand a trade (until Jordan retired the first time). If Kyrie came out and said he hated living in Cleveland the fans would crucify him. Blaming Lebron for wanting to leave makes no sense. If Lebron never came to Cleveland, Kyrie would still try to leave. One could even say Lebron is the only reason why Kyrie even reupped in the first place.

Because he wants to be Kobe breh. Thats actually what a lot of this is about :russ:

A willingness to spend is all the owner is supposed to do. It's up to the GM to spend wisely. But yeah. Gilbert is a prick and after writing that letter I honestly don't know how Lebron could even go back (but he did it for his hometown so I get that).

I think is a combination of all of the above factors. And yeah, they had a championship GM, but lets be honest. Lebron coming back elevated everyone including the GM.

That's why athletes always end up going broke. They worry about the wrong shyt. There will never be another Kobe just like there will never be another Jordan. I get Kyrie wanting to make a name for himself, but if he can't do it playing with Lebron... if he can force nikkas to ask Lebron what it's like playing the role of Robin, who's fault is that. He's the point guard. He handles the rock on every possession. I my eyes he's already proven he's a A or 1A at the least.

Players give the media too much power. If they ignore them, their voices wouldn't matter.

Owner's set the overall direction for the franchise. The teams that you see being competitive and competing for chips for years decades at a time, with different players coming and going, have owners that know what they are doing and, most importantly, know what they shouldn't do.

Bron obviously had a major impact but Griffin did an excellent job stocking the squad without draft picks or cap room to work with.

Except Kobe and Shaq were legit franchise players while Kyrie at best is the 2nd best player on your team. Kyrie will never be a franchise player because he doesn't play defense, doesn't have a major impact on the game besides scoring, and doesn't make his teammates better.

Draft picks and cap room don't mean much if you draft the wrong players and can't get big name free agents to sign. The owners job is to hire the right GM and give them the resources to be competitive (in addition to generating revenue for the franchise). Some of it is luck. Milwaukee traded Dirk Nowitzki for Tractor Traylor. Who knew they would trade away a future HOF player. Unless you sign a sure thing like a Lebron or Kevin Durant it's all best guess.

Fixed.

It is that much harder to make moves if you don't have cap room and picks. That's a definite testament to the GM.
