Multiple things can be true at once, Kanye, Kyrie, whoever, can be screwing up in certain instances, but also highlighting a truth we cannot forget. We sat back and participated in a culture of extreme sensitivity that uses ruining a persons livelihood as the only means for addressing an offense. The interesting part is that just like in every other part of society, the weaponization of that culture is concentrated on the black community. Black people are still the target used for making an example while the dominant society keeps gets passes, and the benefit of the doubt.
This isn’t even some overly hotep militant thinking. I’m just tired of the public lynching of black men for the slightest offense and watching everyone else explain how a white person that did the same thing was “a really good guy that made a mistake”.
The best thing we can do is instead of throwing salt on the wound is at least just stay quiet and not give these people the fuel to say “you see, even they agree with us”.
