Lets take a poll.

How many people in this thread play games without an internet connection on a regular basis?

nikka, how you gonna feel playin a campaign, in the middle of some intense fire fight and your ISP is having issues that day and your game goes OUT while you wait for your service to comeup. You start the game up again, go back into your solid state save, and pow again internet connection drops and you cant access your console. Or say you're router is acting up rebooting itself, and everytime it does so you get booted out of your game. Lets not act like this wont be pissing people off and become a big nuisance to gamers.

What happens when you cancel live and can no longer play every game you bought. Payin someone money to play a game you bought, :heh: This shyt, is trash.

I always have access to the internet.

Even if my ISP/router is acting up, I can tether my LTE connection as a backup.

People are bringing up not being able to play games without an internet connection as their main complaint when the more concerning issue that this brings is not being able to play used games due to this always online approach and the fact that they want it always online with the Kinect on to spy in your living room.

The arguments and outcry about not being able to play a game without being online to me isn't really the most retarded aspect of this issue to begin with.

Now somebody's gonna say, "bu bu what if your cell towers are down AND your ISP is messing up and your router is broken"

:childplease:

Then I guess I won't be playing games then. My life will end because of that.

Take a poll on how many people have internet drops from isp or internal hardware issues.

If your net is dropping constantly then you need to figure out what the problem is.

Technical difficulties happen with routers etc, but if it's happening all the time then the main priority for me would be to fix it ASAP before I even do anything else.

Wifi is essential to all of the entertainment viewed in my house so I'm either fixing my shyt on the spot or buying new equipment to kill that problem all together.

Why would I be online unless i'm playing multiplayer??

Being online just for the sake of being online?? :why:

What's wrong with being online while playing single player?

nothing....until it becomes required to play offline games :bryan:. it makes no sense for online to be required for offline games and apps. If I bring my system on a trip and I can't get connection to start up my system it's useless son......not to mention all the possible connection issues that could pop up in an OFFLINE game...

Horrible spin jobs here.

That horrible "MY console is always connected and therefore yours should be too!" argument doesn't fly here.

This guy is seriously awesome. Terrific video.

Here's another great post I read about the issue:

S3SrRSa.png

There's a guy who works two minimum wage jobs. He just saved up enough money to buy the new 720 because he loves Madden. It's the only game he buys every year.

The problem is that he just moved out of his mother's house, so bills are tight. He doesn't have broadband because

1) It's expensive
2) Where he lives, the internet service providers don't have plans he can afford.

You just kept him from playing video games with your always-on connection.

Another guy just started college. He loved Xbox when he was in high school, but the college doesn't allow you to hook your Xbox up to the internet.

You just kept him from playing video games with your always-on connection.

There's a child who got a new Xbox for Christmas. His parents can't be bothered to set up the console so he can get on Xbox Live.

You just kept him from playing video games with your always-on connection.

There's a place out in the country that doesn't have any means of reliable broadband access. A family has scraped together enough money to buy a new Xbox.

You just kept them from playing games with your always-on connection.

Thunderstorm? No video games.

Poor people? No video games.

Not allowed? No video games.

Not tech savvy? No video games.

I don't know if Microsoft realizes this, but their brand was built on college-age males who aren't rich.

You're punishing them.
