The thing that caught my eye was them explaining the graphics jump to be equal to halo 2 VS. crysis.

yeah, it'll be like going from a 2004 console game to a 2007 pc game, in 2013. now that's progress!

why not just say the truth, and say it'll be like going from a current gen console game to a current gen pc game

:mindblown: what are you talking about. It said the graphics JUMP. Not that the actual graphics will match those games. If you don't think there is a significant jump in graphics between halo 2 and cryisis then I don't know what to tell you.

nah, I just thought it was an awkward comparison. and I think it misrepresents the 'jump'. it's kinda insinuates xbox 720 games will have significantly better graphics than Crysis on (a capable) PC. now that might not seem like a big deal if you consider Crysis is from 2007, but the counter-intuitive thing is that og Crysis still has some of the best graphics seen on the PC. to this day no single gpu can average 60fps with everything turned up (only 4xAA btw):

in other words, the 'jump' will be more like going from Halo 3/4 to Crysis. but I guess that's not as sexy as insinuating what's basically a 2 generation leap

so basically Microsoft is gonna give out install keys like PC games. always require your console to be online to play and once the disc is installed its disposable?

the only way running multiple games at the same time works is if the disc isn't required.

but the disc could still be the only place to install from. they really haven't said much about actual digital distribution

yeah thats the idea im getting from this article. it seems the disc is only for installing as it said that the information could not be read directly from the disc.

and by the sounds of it, this right here is what Xbox will look like in action:
