I remember writing an essay on Nazi Propaganda and reading about the brilliant techniques of persuasion the Nazi's used on German society in the years leading up to WWII and and even during the war. Through deception and manipulation, the Nazi's were able to implement their ideology into German society - a country that was at a time the wealthiest in the world in the late nineteenth century, with highly educated people and a very rich culture. The propaganda was delivered through the press and broadcasting, more specifically the radio. With this, they were successful in developing a system of persuasion and deception, it wasn't simply brainwashing or emotional manipulation.

Now I'm not comparing Nazi Germany to America but after thorough research on this particular topic, the similarities can't be ignored. Through the entertainment industry, this is how America does it. We don't need to begin speaking about how massive the entertainment business is in America and how it greatly impacts American society. But that's just to pull the wool over your eyes about the world. They really DON'T want you to know what's going on in the world. Why would a government want to piss off millions of armed Americans??? :wtf: So through distractions, like the entertainment industry and "security" (The Patriot Act), they keep you nice and safe :lolbron:

You get to enjoy your new gated community and brand new car. You work the 40 hours a week. You get the 70K salary. You get your three weeks of vacation a year (if you're one of the lucky ones :skip:). This is the life. Oh yeah, you're 40-50K in debt from student loans, you're paying out the ass for health insurance, you're getting taxed like a bytch, God forbid you have kids :leon:, and every other day your governments implementing a new bill that continues to slowly remove your civil liberties. But this is the life. Throw in the bombardment of the entertainment business and most people don't care to really know what's happening in their own country, let alone the world. They have all these things to pay for. Their own problems. And this is where we stand. But it gets even deeper than that..... :noah:

In our world, we really know nothing but I'd like to think that most of us on here, specifically in this thread, we know a thing or two about what's happening in the world today and a little bit of history of the world and I've said this before, it's all full circle. There's nothing new under the sun. Why would you put anything past the American government and their agenda? I mean just look at the history.... Hell, the last 100 years and what they've been able to accomplish. I mean we could even look at the last two decades and how they've conquered the Middle East to "protect us" from terrorists while managing to line the pockets of corporations while bleeding billions in tax dollars from their citizens while our education system continues to deteriorate :comeon: But it's all good over here.. We get to eat at Appleby's and drive cool cars and use our iPhones and live in 2,500/month downtown lofts :pachaha:

:rudy:

This is the life they want you to accept. The world the way they want you to know it. Millions are truly out of touch with reality. I thought the Tyra Banks piece in the clip was brilliant. In that segment alone she displayed how "unplugged" she is. Tyra knows good and damn well she doesn't give a fukk about no homeless folk. Tyra is trying to get ratings for her show. Like they said in the clip, she has no qualifications about half the shyt she's spewing :bryan: Is that a good or a bad thing? I don't know. But I do know we are slaves to the $$$ and a hidden agenda sweeping through the world. I think a lot of us just have acceptance happiness. A lot of people know about the inequalities of the world, the poverty, war, the disease, greed, corruption but that's not what you see everyday. We see, for the most part, what they want us to see. The things in front of us. The things we have to pay for. Our own problems. This is the life :youngsabo:

5 star post breh

and yeah, that tyra being homeless shyt is absolutely retarded

this bytch cant be homeless, or even pose as homeless because the REAL homeless people have the homeless mentality and thought that they know they have no structural building to live in and the mentality of being homeless is missing in tyra cause that stupid bytch knows she has a mansion waiting for her after her 10 hour homeless exhibition

I love it when people go, "I'm not reaaaally comparing X to Y because if I do, you'll immediately see how ridiculous my argument is and probably dismiss everything I say...but here's how A and B are alike."

The full documentary is piff, kind of reminds me of a class I took(1865-1965). Anyone who's studied American History, knows there's a long line of corruption, propaganda and overall bs.

But this documentary is all over the place at times. It takes various shots at "western civilized" countries not just the U.S.

I'll drop a follow-up post tomorrow.....

I'll say when you get around the propangda b/s. 90% of this film is based on facts, which is amazing.

I can drop some academic references, for any claims / statistics people want to refute

Exactly. Let's not forget NK is an Orwellian dictatorship that has starved millions of it's own citizens to death.

:snoop: nobodies is forgetting the "supposed" origin of the video.

The point is the message in the film.

Can we critically think for a second.

This is like buying Calvin Klien underwear at Macy's instead of Marshalls. It's still the same thing. The only difference is that cost more at one place than another. In this case instead of coming from a prestigious academic institution, it's coming from an unknown "supposed North Korean" group".

Bottom Line:

I don't give a shyt if Stalin, Hitler and Pol Pot made this video, it needs to be watched and debated, deconstructed and considered in a thoughtful manner. Very good points presented.

Are you people serious? This shyt being discussed and criticism is already being discussed in criticized in America. Many of the shows this documentary mentioned have either been canceled or sued out of existence. How much shyt does does Jolie type celebrities go through for bringing up kids from 3rd world countries. How many times a week does reality television get shyt on? They all provoke eyes rolls from everyday Americans.

The fukking pot calling the kettle black. Its like the local chicken head trying to convince your Mother not to cheat on your father. N. Korean has no freedom of speech. It has no political freedom. People with disabilities are persecuted. Minorities are persecuted.

The massager always matters when he's worse than you.

Its just a communist press kit. They take some truth and turn it into a reason why you should support communism. North Korea sold out a long time ago when they gave in to the russians. They speak of homeless in America but they had Millions dying from starvation in their own country. Everybodies crazy. The craziest thing about this nation is the people who are the biggest critics and conspiracy theorists are usually the biggest degenerates.

:snoop:

you bunch of smart dumb idiots. This wasn't actually made by North Korea.

Y'all having a philosophical discussion and missing the fact that in NO WAY would North Korea show its people how Americans live. You think they want to show their starving people a beautiful golf course with people cheering as well as him going around fukking beautiful women?

Brehs, no, Idiots, seriously.
