The movie had some issues but all and all it was a fun way to waste 2 hours.
Best thing about it besides Kong going ham on everybody, Sam Jackson being a black Capt. Ahab and John C. Reilly just being hilarious was the fact the movie leaned back from the whole Fay Wray and Kong flirting with bestiality bullshyt from every other King Kong movie.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Sam Jackson actually said hang on to your butts. :dead:

You pretty much knew Sam Jackson was going to be on some fukk shyt from the opening scene with him in it.

Movie was dope. They definitely made up for Godzilla. Way more action.

On a side note: seeing brie larson in this with loki made had me thinking about infinity war :to:

Didn't really like it. Was too bored for too long. Way too many nothing characters and nothing moments between them. Crazy how they completely wasted so much talent, even Sam Jackson and John Goodman seemed to be sleepwalking through their roles. John C Reilly was pretty good though:ehh:

The action was cool, but I didn't like the design of the main baddie. I'm assuming it's from existing source material but it just felt uninspired and boring, especially compared to Kong and some of the other creatures.

But I accept that these movies just might not be for me. I didn't really like Godzilla, Pacific Rim, Jurassic World or any other similar themed movies with huge monsters fighting each other.

I feel like there was a great movie in there, but it happened off screen
I think a better movie would have been the Japanese soldier and the American Soldier crash landing on the planet as enemies, and then helping each other survive the monsters on the island. They can't communicate with each other but they put aside petty differences and become friends.

And while this is going on, Kong's family is having epic fights with monsters, which the monsters mostly win, leaving Kong as the only survivor. I believe this was essentially the lore/backstory of the film, and I guess I would have preferred watching that movie instead of the one we got:manny:

I'm glad others enjoyed it though.
