800 lbs is well over a grizzly bears average, some population of grizzly bears dont even breach 500 lbs. Kodiaks are merely estimated to get big, not actually weighed. Only a few bears have ever been weighed scientifically. As already shown:

It only takes 3-5 wolves to scare off a bear, a male lion isnt even intimidated by 30+ hyena.
