I Think we need to discuss why you have to choose one to like over the other.
And why colorism is accepted when one prefers dark over light
True. This is also true when it comes to race as well, but it's definitely more odd in this case.
If you date a lighter-skinned woman or two, it gets assumed that that's your locked preference and that you don't date dark-skinned women at all and in some cases, it creates an idea that you DISLIKE dark-skinned women or that you've been conditioned.
That's even if you never fix your mouth to say anything negative about dark-skinned women. It's just assumed that you're color-struck.
If you date ONE person from a race other than your own, it gets assumed that you dislike your own and strictly date "other." That's just always been odd to me.
I don't order lasagna at an Italian restaurant and get asked, "What? You don't like your own cooking anymore? You're not eating rice, macaroni, and baked chicken, so you must hate your mother, huh? Self-hater!"
Is anybody gonna answer my question why it's always the darkest men saying they don't want a dark woman?
Simple because dark skin women reject them the most.
Even though it's not a good excuse, people act like it never happens. I've seen this happen. A LOT.
I love how the coli is acting brand new, rappers have been praising yellow bones/ red bones/ lightskin or whatever you want to call it since forever.
Woman been talking about wanting a man with "good hair" or "pretty eyes" since forever.
At one point light skin was really in style for both sides.
For real we need a discussion on why we black men prefer light skin women so much .
Hell we need to discuss why black women value light skin so much too
Brehs...it seems like everyone overlooks this and we're just pretending the last 2 decades didn't happen. Maybe it's because social media wasn't as prevalent back then or it wasn't as obvious but, in the 90's and through a lot of the 2000's (ESPECIALLY among young people), women made no qualms about preferring light-skinned men over dark-skinned men or making it a point to use the words "pretty" and "good" when describing their features. "Good hair" isn't just something that ONLY dudes would say and dudes weren't the catalyst for things like, "We'd make some pretty babies."
Now in 2016, it's like none of that happened and it's always and only been black men rejecting darker women.
