As for that game 7 in 2006

2006 1st Round, Game 7 - Lakers lost by 31

Halftime
Kobe - 21 points, 8 Made FGs
Rest of Lakers - 24 points, 9 Made FGs

Kobe shot 50% for the game. Rest of his teammates 32%.

Odom - 35%
Smush - 31%
Kwame - 20%

All kobe needed to do was score 56. Didn't he score 81 earlier in the season?

Jamal Crawford, though?:comeon:

:ehh: practically any NBA caliber players at that time with Kobe would have helped Kobe and the Lakers win at least 10-15+ games, easily. Nobody was able to stop Kobe that year, but those Lakers team from 05-07 :scusthov:

Yea because 56 point playoff games are so easy  Your kobe hate is pathetic

A 7th seed taking a 2 seed to 7 games is nothing to be ashamed about when they were so overmatched to begin with

Usually players have to drive to force the double team or force the coverage to come to them. If they're doubling you that far from the basket why wouldn't you just catch it out there and let your team play 4 on 3.

Like I said before there were definitely some seriously questionable games where Kobe just seemed to say fukk it and let his team take the L. But in this one he made the correct plays.

They weren't doubling him though. There were a few plays where the Lakers would set a high pick and roll and the defender would show for 1-2 seconds before running back to his man but it's not what I would call a true double team. When he had the ball, he was facing single coverage and he was giving the ball up long before he got any pressure.

If you want to insist the Suns just shut him down, :manny:

The I in Team
Smush and Kobe need to meet up in a ring and fight. If I was smush I'd get courtside tickets to a lakers game and boo Kobe. At this point they've reached the level of being each others nemesis.

I don't know the particulars, but I'd imagine being a marginal NBA talent starting on a team with Kobe Bryant in the prime of his abilites and thirsting to win another championship is not one of the more pleasant work environments as far as pro sports go...It's a good chance Smush took his fair share of verbal abuse and a general overall constant air of disdain, condescension and resentment directed his way from Bean...and Smush is prolly one of those guys that's not gonna take that with a smile on his face...from nobody... the fact that he was a bum lucky to be in the NBA and on his way out notwithstanding...very obvious clash of personalities

Sounds like I was spot on :pachaha:

Former LA Lakers point guard Smush Parker is calling out Kobe Bryant for being a diva who treated his teammates like crap -- and it comes just hours after Kobe blamed Parker for costing him a huge trophy 7 years ago.

Parker played with Kobe during the 2005-06 season, and tells TMZ the Lakers great is only lashing out because he once dared to say Kobe was "overrated" as a teammate.

Parker's never explained what he meant by that, but now tells us ... Kobe "told me out of his own mouth that I couldn't talk to him. That my accolades under my belt weren't deserving enough for me to talk to him." He also says Kobe didn't talk to most of his teammates.

Parker says he's opening up about Kobe's diss because Kobe told reporters earlier today ... he lost the '05-'06 NBA MVP trophy to Steve Nash because he was surrounded with no-talent players that season.

Kobe said, "I tell Steve, you won MVP, but I was playing with Smush Parker."

Kobe piled on more, saying ... "He shouldn't have been in the NBA but we were too cheap to pay for a point guard. So we let him walk on."

Parker, who's currently hooping overseas, says his stats prove he was far from "the worst" ... as Kobe claims ... and adds, "People lie, numbers don't.

Yeah, it apparently had nothing to do with Smush's abilities since much worse players for the Lakers have never been openly criticized by Kobe. It's the fact that he stepped to him.
Nah...pretty obvious it's a combination of the two...kwame and chris mihm got shytted on in the exact same interview, and everybody knows neither of them is stepping up to anybody..kobe just resented them for sucking...smush was a bum AND continued throwing shade once he was off the team and out the league, so he gets it the worst...he's the odds on favorite, other than that Shaq, to catch them darts during his HOF induction speech
