Kobe was an awful defender before he got injured, that is going to magically improve? Why is that just swept under the table when you and everyone else in this thread were clowning Wade for being 
on defense, someone that was injured the majority of the season.I don't need Duncan to be the best player ever, or the best big man ever
like yall need Kobe to be the best SG right now, or the GOAT. I'd only be angry if I had to watch Duncan finish out his career playing on lottery bound teams playing some of the worst individual defense in the league while I deliriously call him the best @ his position.

This Laker team is going to be lucky to see 20 wins, and part of the reason is Kobe can't even keep up with his shadow at this point.

Every single last one of these guys has been better on defense while providing similar offense, Kobe's defense has been bad for a minute now and this year it's been absolutely terrible, to the point he's trailing Boozer in defensive rating. He's making Harden (who has improved) look like Tony Allen right now, and Harden got clowned to the end of the earth and has been much much better this year on defense.
@ The qualifiers and excuses, what does that have to do with Kobe being terrible on defense? So, someone can dismiss Klay & Jimmy being better on defense than Wade right now, because Wade is old, with higher miles and is coming off injuries? Your qualifiers suck breh, you can't have it both ways. You can't say he's the best SG in the league, ignore defense and then just say "he's old" when defense is brought up, because you're already comparing him to those young guys by saying he's better than them. I don't believe that you honestly think Dallas or Toronto would get worse if you replace monta and derozan with kobe
Kobe is still finding his groove, he missed a ton of games. Harden Klay and butler have had better seasons so far but I think it's clear that kobe is more impactful than derozan and monta....especially if you actually put him on squads that have talent

Ellis, Wade and DeRozan have been better on defense than him, also if you put him on those teams the numbers everyone is posting about would drop considerably, Wade takes 15 shots a game, Ellis takes 17 and DeRozan takes 16...meanwhile Kobe is putting it up 22 a night. So, they'd be taking on a worse individual defender that is no more efficient than the guy(s) they'd be losing.

You're looking at numbers and ignoring circumstances.Kobe Bryant is not gonna take as many shots if he's on the mavs, raptors, Warriors, Bulls, etc. He's not gonna force as many dumb low percentage shot attempts
There's NOBODY in the league that would shoot a good percentage taking the dumb shots that kobe is taking.
