If Kobe is smart he will take around 15 shots a game and score efficiently. He can split ball handling duties with Nash and rely on Bynum and Gasol more during the reg. season. He can use the additional energy he'll have, due to taking less shots, to play more consistent defense and rebound more.

Down the stretch of the season and into the playoffs he could ramp up his shot attempts to maybe 20ish per game or so at most. However, these should all be good shots rather than shooting fades over three defenders.

Kobe's usage should drop dramatically this year as well. He should move without the ball and look to run for easier baskets which is what they do in Mia.

Playing like this Kobe should average in the range of 22 ppg on like 50% fg% with increased rebounds and assists and steals.

However, we all know only 22ppg is unacceptable in Kobe's mind. I am expecting a lot of drama in LA.

He calls for it because he's an ultra aggressive scorer, I've never seen him be mad at his teammates last season if they waive him off to do something else and especially if it leads to a score.

So he's being congratulated for not getting mad at teammates for making shots? You realize how warped that is right?

Obviously he knows that his teammates need to score too but he has always wanted the majority of the scoring role. He has said numerous times that he's a scorer and that's what he does and he's not going to score 18 points a game. He's not looking to be a Shane Battier type camped out in a corner as a third option. He is going to want the ball regularly no matter who they have at point.

Remember all of those crucial shots that Kobe was missing at the end of games in the playoffs? Those were the shots he wanted. Those were not shots that he would have been dishing off to a guy like Nash instead. I'm not sure why anyone expects anything to be so much different.

What people like you don't seem to understand is that kobe has abilities that he should not be parked on the 3 point line all game, he can be in the post at the elbow..anywhere.

Just like you said he's no shane battier, he's no jared dudley. He's fukking 10x better than those dudes. Of course kobe should call for the ball but nash not over giving him shots is what will be different from previous years. He won't have to do the main ball handling duties which will leave him fresher for the 4th quarter for all those shots you said he was missing. With nash controlling the offense I expect kobe to still get his about 10-20 shots and the others to get theirs too.

Well unless he is going to stand in a corner like Battier or make cuts to the basket like Dudley, he is going to have to handle the ball often. For how he functions offensively and for the shots he likes to take, he HAS to have the main ball handling duties. Whether he's isolating or trying to back someone down in the post, he's going to have to have the ball for a while to do it.

How kobe performed against spain in the olympics is probably how I expect kobe to perform with the new laker offense. In that game he was handling the ball to get his shots but also setting up shots for his teammates and the main ball handling duties were chris paul and lebron. Kobe still got his shots and the rest of the team still got theirs. You can leave your kobe shyt talking to when kobe actually does something that negatively impacts his new team this season.

I don't know about that. Scottie without Michael and D league SG = 2 less wins and robbed of a Finals appearance. MJ without Scottie = lottery seasons and first round exits. But hey, who cares about facts.

At what point did it become almost common knowledge to trolls that a trip to the Finals was snatched from Pip on that call...he didn't even make the ECF!

Just media trying to stir shyt up. They asked Nash and Dwight the same question. They also asked all of them who gets the last shot late in close games. Just L.A. Media doing what they always do.
