lol just because Kobe said it's his team (which it is) doesn't mean he won't let Nash, Howard, etc do their thing.

Fact. In a radio interview yesterday during media, Kobe clearly states at the 3:25 mark, "thank god" about having the ball less, and how Nash is going to be the quarterback of the team. "some people are really dumb, people say i just wanna score, but nobody has won more championships than me in my entire generation. I don't like having the ball, i had to have the ball playing with Shaq, i don't like doing that, it's something i learned to do. Now with Steve having the ball, i get to run routes."

Check out the 3:25 minute mark right here.

Nothing for Kobe to be insecure about. Shaq won nothing before Kobe, yet Kobe becomes a starter, Shaq wins MVP, 3 FMVPs and 3 rings. Gasol wins nothing before Kobe. Gets paired with Kobe, gets multiple all star appearances, 2 rings. Dwight wins no rings or MVPs before Kobe, now we await to see if any championships will follow. Nash wins no rings before Kobe, we wait to see if any are to follow. Judging from what happens in the past when these players get paired with Kobe, rings follow. I expect this to be no different.

so he can now shoot more :shaq:

I think he'll get up about 20 shots a game and if they speed up the pace to what they used to run with Phil, everyone should be able to get the ball.

One of the Lakers' main offensive problems last year was that they had to run Kobe as a PG/SG hybrid which is absolutely ridiculous at this point in his career. His hands are toast and his speed out on the perimeter is gone. Kobe should be coming off the ball, setting up in the post and coming off screens. With Nash he'll still be able to get his points, just in different way. :jawalrus:

Great explanation for the trolls and flat out idiots who littered this thread with obvious boredom.

Kobe or any other doesn't have to be the "best player" for it to be his team. He is the leader of the team, there is no debating that, but you dudes equate "my team" with "I'm the best player and I'm going to prove it to the world", no idiots, he is the LEADER of that team, the main cog, the one who will take all the heat and the glory regardless of what happens. If LA doesn't win the chip, who will get the blame? Kobe. If LA wins the chip, who get the blame Kobe ALONG with Nash and Dwight. If it ain't Kobe's team, then whose is it? :stopitslime:

Mike wouldn't need to say this, everything would be understood.

Kobe was asked that because today's culture of the media is to cause problems or create issues and rivals. They did then same thing with Wade and Lebron, but Wade "stepped aside" and let Lebron lead. Who will Kobe step aside and let lead, Dwight who has shown time after time that he is mentally fragile? Nash, a 38-39 year old player who's on his last hurrah, who never won anything team wise? Kobe has to be the leader, no choice at all.
