It's a goddamn shame that we can't even recognize the greatness of a player like Kobe as he's passing these all time great milestones in the twilight of his career without a bunch of a fukking fakkits looking for any and every angle to downplay it...it's amazing really...he's about to join Kareem, Malone, MJ, and Wilt as the fifth member of the 30K pt club...as fans of the game, what about that can't people just appreciate from a historical sense :dwillhuh:... my god

Nikkas is tryin to say he is the GOAT, I wasn't havin' that :manny: I am one of the biggest Kobe fans on here, but people use his accomplishments as a chance to sh*t on MJ, who is the GOAT.

Meanwhile the Lakers are 3 losses from being 15th the west. :manny:

When the team sucks go for individual accomplishments!! Great logic .

Jordan career PPG as a starter is 30
Kobe career PPG as a starter is 28, and that's with having to play a portion of his career with a 30 PPG scorer in Shaq.

Again do people believe mike would have the same numbers he had(especially in the ones he put up in the mid to late 80's on bad teams) next to prime shaq? :snoop:

Jordan isn't averaging 37 PPG on the 2000-2004 Lakers.

Btw why can't we have a kobe thread without mentioning Mike?:bryan:

That's what I hate they always gotta belittle kobes accomplishments by bringing up Mike. Instead of just respecting Kobes legacy.and when that dont work they bring up shaq. Then when that dont work they bring up his shot selection or his arrogance :damn:. I guess its a result from the overstanning some of y'all do.:childplease:

Kobe had two lockout seasons and two seasons where Del played him around 20 minutes. shyt is incredible

Dude was a trailblazer...first guard/perimeter player to come out of high school to the NBA in 96. If he would came in the NBA in the early 2000s out of High School he would been starting and playing big mins from the jump. Greatest Scorer I've EVER seen.

There's a reason he was on the bench. :shaq2:

Because 1, he went to a good team with an all star caliber player at his position and 2 he came out in 96 not 03. He was the Jackie Robinson of perimeter players leaving HS to come in the NBA. People tend to brush that aside when speaking on Bean and his career.

18-year-old Kobe wasn't averaging 20 in 1996 or 2003 or 2012.

Fact of the matter is he was on the bench because he wasn't good enough (at the time) to be on the court. No qualifiers needed.

yeah he was...he didn't get the minutes. When Kobe got the minutes he balled... he doubled his scoring avg the next year when his minutes doubled. Coaches at that time were not going risk their careers on a HS small esp one who is on a good team. Kobe would of been the Top 4 pick in the 03 draft and Top 3 if Dumars wasn't a dumb azz. If the Logo had the No.1 pick in 03 he would of selected Bean over :lolbron:.

Nah. Being the first or second HS player, along with Garnett had something to do with it. GM/Coaches were still unsure about whether they could adapt to the pace of the game.

Meanwhile today, players like Demar Derozen start. He went to USC but, still. He left after one year & was 19, barely 20 & starting.

wrong he was on the bench because the guy in front of him eddie jones was an allstar sg. sorry you dont replace allstars with rookies.

MJ didnt replace an allstar young shooting guard (theus i think got hurt the year before mike came in. so dont even say his name)

non of these guys replaced allstars in the starting lineup. they replaced decent players. not allstars. some of the players they replace were either washed or or role players.

if 17 year old kobe played for philly he would've taken aaron mckie's spot easily.

he 17 yr old kobe played for any loser team(cavs, seattle, toronto, orlando) he would've easily replaced said starter on that team.
