His interviews in recent years have been motivating/inspiring. He wouldn't just talk basketball, but he would drop life lessons as well. I'm going to miss the fact I won't see anymore of those.

Kobe's knowledge of the nuances of the game was unrivaled. He broke it down in ways no one else could. He was the perfect choice for a show like "Detail".

As a player he was phenomenal. Putting up big numbers even in a defensive era like the early to mid 2000s makes you appreciate it now even more. He was also entertaining to watch as he could score in so many different ways.

What made Kobe's rise to greatness interesting is that it took him some time to reach that level. He wasn't a can't-miss prospect coming out of the draft. A lot of great prospects came into the league and averaged 20+ right away and you knew they were going to be elite. It wasn't like that for Kobe, it took him a few years.

This wasnt entirely true
The reason kobe didnt play from the jump was the coach trying to humble him

Plus the they had a all star already at his position with Eddie jones.
Kobe COULD HAVE started from day one, sh#t he dropped 30 on jordan

Havent been on the Coli this weekend but Im still in a daze about it. This feels like one of those weird dreams. We dont lose Basketball players likethis

To the Kobe fans on here, I know some of yall from SOHH to here Im thinking bout yall and I hope your being strong and I know this hurts.
Im not even dissing y'all, I get the stan/fandom cuture and Kobe was an insipiring dude and one of the most facisnating careers.

Love or hate him, every NBA fan had a emotional response about him

Let this be a safe space and discuss what you appreicate about him

Crazy a lot of people (on IG/YouTube, casual basketball fans, analysist, journalists) was disrespecting Kobe saying Harden was better, not that long ago

Then Lebron passes him yesterday which is kinda taking the torch from Kobe after years of getting the MJ comparisons Kobe used to get.

Since retirement Kobe was never forgotten but it’s like the sports media and pop culture threw him in the bushes

I remember seeing a few all time lists recently where he wasn’t in the top 10, barley top 20.

Now everyone calling him the GOAT again

Funny how things work out
