Kobe's death definitely impacted grown men way more than any other celeb death. Especially in the 20-40 year old age range since we essentially grew up on him.

Ya'll are really downplaying how devastating MJ's death was.

I'm in a bad space man, I tried to avoid the bullshyt but it blew up. I really did try to avoid it.

I just wanted space to heal; to mourn grieve celebrate and process this tragedy but the devils couldn't help themselves.

Now all I want is to see them destroyed and I'm pissed that it may not happen and that I'm helpless to do it myself.

I lived through it the first time, it was everything to see Kobe go through it and keep moving.

I want these lofty, ivory tower living, gaslighting hypocrites, humbled in the worst way.

Ya'll are really downplaying how devastating MJ's death was.

Nobody is downplaying anything. Michael Jackson was an icon and his death was huge. It just wasn't as shocking as Kobe's. Kobe was younger and healthier. He was also with his daughter. They died in a fukkin helicopter crash. Putting all of that together is what makes it more devastating.

I can't help by think back to his final game.. plenty of elements of that game foreshadowed his passing it's eerie when you think about it.

After the game hugging former teammates from Brian Cook to DJ Mbenga felt like he had died and gone to heaven.

I remember thinking at the time that it was surreal..

after further review Kobe might've been better than MJ

MJ was 24 when he linked up with a 22 year old Scottie.....if kobe had a young legend to build with as he enters his prime does he really finish with just 5 . I've always had MJ slightly above Kobe but a lot of bullshyt agendas from media/haters fukked up the narrative of his career. Kobe's help came in a more disjointed fashion. He didn't get to "build" with a fellow legend of his era.


I also got Kareem in there.....my top 3 is some combination of MJ/Kobe/Kareem they clearly stand out above the rest when you combine skills, longevity, on court accomplishments

I made the request to @3Rivers before the last game. Everything about Kobe’s last season and final game felt like watching a basketball great transition into afterlife as a basketball gawd. I never would’ve imagined this happening tho. Guess the spirit in tune when the mind don’t see it yet.
