compared to ya'll, we look like geniuses.
Not really.
You have - in my estimation - one of the best 3-5 players in the nba as your centerpiece, and you're going to enter this season, with the same roster that failed him 2 years ago, basically hoping for the evolution of Jimmy Butler to push your team over the hump.
Last year was an abortion. The front office - instead of telling Rose to shut it down, take the year, and come back healthy - opted to hold out hope for his return, and spent the year in a holding pattern. They could have made a move with boozer or deng to improve the roster, either through the draft, or via trade... but instead you're going to have the same problems you've been complaining about for going on three seasons.
You have a young star, in the beginning of his prime, and you're not making the moves necessary to put a championship team around him. Even for and outsider, that's immensely frustrating.
You don't look like geniuses, you're major acquisition this season is
Tony Snell.
So the city of New York and the historic Knicks franchise couldn't attract any good free agents without Amare being there?
Don't play stupid. You know how the NBA works, it's the place, or it's the money, or it's both.
It attracted Amar'e. The team was good again, and it attracted Melo. Melo has already said he would have signed with the Knicks in the summer, but it didn't come to that, because he was traded mid season. He chose the knicks, he chose new york.
Many digs at the Knicks, their franchise, their base, and the city are legit. Use some of them.
LeBron didn't want to come to New York, he wanted to go to Miami with Wade and Bosh. If the Knicks had more players, maybe it would have been different, maybe not. Doesn't matter. They signed Amar'e, Signed Melo to a max deal, signed Chandler.
The Knicks attracted 3 max players, that were all in line to get max deals from other teams as well. I'm not sure why some people choose to argue facts, when you could just say "the knicks management is fukking idiots." And be MORE valid.
