I swear, you dudes all daping this fakenews because the dude I pointed out is white its tiresome AF.

Revis returning to Jets: 'I'm coming home'

Kirk is asking for, and most likely getting, a deal for ONLY 3 years (not 4 or 5 etc) of ONLY fully guaranteed money. THAT is a game changer for the NFLPA.

If the cba was up in 6 years he wouldn't have done a 3 year.

He ain't doing shyt.

Rookie deals aren't free agent deals breh. His second deal, the $100 Million dollar one....only had $31 guaranteed breh.
60 was guaranteed, and it carried so much dead money over that the first few years were all but guaranteed anyways. had over 35 mil in dead money some of those years. 15 mil dead money this year. hes not cuttable til 2020 whether it was guaranteed or not

The $60 that was guaranteed was for Injury, only $31 of it was non injury guaranteed.

Hold on. Let me be clear before you keep moving the goal posts.

Show me one Free Agent contract that is fully guaranteed. I'll wait.

Kirk is a mediocre QB for a team I don't follow, who I could give a fukk about or the color of his skin. He worked the franchise tag route and made it unpalatable for future teams to do to other QB's. He's now about to get the first fully guaranteed Free Agent contract of the salary cap era and will hopefully change the types of guarantees and leverage the players in the NFL have access to going forward. Over 70% of the players in the NFL are African American players. Why, exactly, are you trying to dismiss this??

I'm dismissing it cause he did absolutely 0 special. He signed a 3 year so he could hopefully get 2 big contracts. Remember how NBA cats were all making their contracts be up when the CBA was up? Same thing here.
If the CBA wasn't up he would have signed a 6 year contract with 3 guaranteed.

Fully guaranteed contracts would ruin the competitiveness of the NFL. As it stands now, teams can get rid of underperforming players thus ensuring players having to bust their ass to make sure they get paid.

Why the fukk would you want to ruin it as a fan? You're not getting a cut from this dude's salaries?

Is kirk cousins even good? :dwillhuh:

He may be the 19th best QB in the league right now.

Lets see, he lost his 2 best receivers Pierre Garcon and Desean Jackson to free agency (who both went over 1000 yards) and got Terrelle fukking Pryor in return. His best weapon, Jordan Reed, was out for over half of the season and he had to rely on a 34 year old Vernon Davis to catch the majority of his passes. And yet considering the circumstances, he still played like a top 10 quarterback

Can you imagine how Cousins is going to play when he goes to a team that has a championship caliber defense with Theilen and Diggs as his wideouts and Dalvin Cook as his running back? He's a huge upgrade from Case Keenum and much more proven. Keenum just happened to be in the right place at the right time with the right players around him when he got thrust into the starting lineup last season. Meanwhile, Cousins has 3 straight seasons of proof that he's a legitimate franchise quarterback. As a Vikings fan, I'm so happy we signed him. This is the first time we've had a franchise QB for more than 1 season since Daunte Culpepper (and before him, the last time we had a legit franchise QB for more than 1 season was Fran Tarkenton)

QBs sign 3 year fully guaranteed contacts all the time. There is so much dead money usually involved those first few years the team is forced to retain the player for 3-4 years, even when they want to move on. See jay cutler or joe Flacco for instance. Those guys were guaranteed to be on the team for 4-5 years because of the dead cap hits. Flacco will be a raven this year and next year no matter what, because he has 16 million in dead money. It’s fully guaranteed without the wording of saying it’s guaranted. Many of those qb contracts are 100% guaranteed thru the same time frame as cousins 3 seasons. There’s no goalposts being moved. You’re just arguing semantics

All its gonna do is take away from performance incentives, lower total money, and shorter contracts if everybody wants guaranteed money. Teams aren't gonna be doing 4 or 5 year 100 mill contracts for long. It's gonna be a lot more team options too

Quote this post when the time comes. The Vikings will not make it further than they did with Bradford or Keemun.

I'll be real, I don't disagree with you. At this moment, I still think we lose in the NFC Championship Game. We were very lucky that Aaron Rodgers got hurt for most of the season last year, and I would say that the most likely scenario for this season is still an Eagles repeat because they were the best team in the league last year WITH all of their injuries
