I believe Von got the word from somebody that Rondo was at the Hookah Lounge and he kept his manager out the loop because he knew he wouldn't go for it. He was high and likely power tripping from the album release party.

Based on his mannerisms and even his tone when speaking the manager didn't seem like a street dude. I wouldn't be surprised if low key dude is into some other shyt, like WWE or gaming, and thats not a knock to him, he just seems like he's in the wrong field or maybe he should be an R&B manager instead like that guy Justin who manages 6lack and Summer Skywalker

He's clearly not a "wartime consigliere" and he just doesn't know how to talk about open cases at all. You'd think he worked for Rondo the way he was throwing Von under the bus.

He of all people should know YOU DON'T HAVE TO TELL THE PRESS (ESPECIALLY AKADEMIKS) DETAILS! Especially with murder cases. Just say "I'm not at liberty to go into detail." It's his job to know how to answer questions.

A competent manager would have made Von leave from the hookah spot, not wait outside an additional 15-30 minutes. Where were those 3 security guards when everything happened?
