I'm gonna be the bad guy here and say it....seems like Scorsese no longer knows how to budget a movie.
Unless Leo and Deniro fight Thanos in the final act of this movie there's no reason this shyt should even be in the ballpark of $200 million.

Yes, there is absolutely no reason for it to be 100 million, it's essentially a small town/reservation drama, it unfolds in Osage County, which isn't like a New York in the 1800's, where entire sections of a city need to be reconstructed, or special effect heavy. And, it is a very violent and murderous story, but not the kind of large scale violence like a Braveheart? or whatever epic action movie, they are targeted killings, and no shootouts, or "battles" of any kind.

Costume design and location. This is the same reason Boardwalk Empire only ran 5 seasons . The costume budget is high.
