10/20 in theatres

How about in our cribs tho? Idgaf about 3 hour 25 min runtime, but in the theatre that is a bit long. I saw the Irishman in theatres and missed a pivotal scene bc I couldn’t hold it any longer and had to piss

Damn, wish I would've seen the Irishman in theaters. I wasn't even thinking about IMAX when that came out.

Imax+Scorsese Q&A at TCL Chinese Theater in LA. Wish I could make it.

Will be out of the country until mid-November but crossing my fingers the IMAX stays around until then.

I just watched a doc on this.
Cacs:pacspit:
Only thing I am worried about is they trying to make Leo and Rob sympathy characters.
Also I don't like the fact ol girl not 100% native, campaigning off that and trying to make her eyes look like them(a lot of native inbreed in fear of having their bloodline completely whipped out so the eyes having signs of down syndrome can let you know who is 100%) as opposed to me seeing her in interviews she looks like a white woman dressed in Native clothes.
I live around fakes, I can spot them.

Been rewatching some of his movies for last few months, and last week finished Gangs of New York, and saw Shutter Island in a theater

Gangs of New York was kind of a chore to get through, I must have hated this as a 17 year old, it was hard watch at 37. An epic that never really takes off, with some dope set pieces, and excellent performances, but would never watch this again.

Shutter Island, remember being very mixed on this leaving the theater, and felt about the same 13 years later, though able to appreciate other things about the movie. The flashbacks and all that were grating and totally killed the sense of tension and momentum. Made the twist obvious. Some great set pieces and some tension. Just a very anticlimatic and dull conclusion.

To me, the biggest issue I would say with his direction, is the sense of pacing that he so sharpened with Goodfellas and Casino, and even Bringing Out The Dead, and would say he regained with The Departed, or went back to.

The full preview in a theater for Killers of The Flower Moon was the first one I saw, and it looked incredible.

Basically critics all love it. Will watch this no doubt, even with that long runtime
