Yall are weird. Calling your parent mom and dad..unless your in your own house maybe surrounded by siblings would be the only appropriate place to call them that.
If yall were havin a one on one there really isn't a reason to address them at all (eye contact should suffice). If your in public or at a family reunion. You couldn't expect to be like "hey dad" "Daddy" or "mama!" To get their attention. Everyone who has kids would look...granted if they are attentive they'd recognize your voice and respond. But in that same instance saying "Leroy!" Or "whatyamoms name is" would be just as appropriate. When referring to them it would be appropriate to say "give this to my mom" or "I'm going to the store for my mom" etc
How do y'all feel about this? I think its very disrespectful. This female I know calls her mom by her 1st name. I kinda cringed the other day when I heard her say to her mom "Dianne, u trippin if u buy that car." I sat there with theface. The mom didn't seem to mind either. I later asked the chick why she called her mom by 1st name, she said that's how its always been and her and her mom are cool like that.
Do any of u guys call your parents by their 1st name or know people that do? Do u think its disrespectful?
