I remember being a teen when this joint came out

The hoopla/controversy over it. The studio didn’t wanna give it the NC-17 death knell so they released it unrated

I had got through seeing one movie, walked my Black ass into Kids right after. I basically caught the whole second half of the film

Outside from the scene of the breh getting jumped and attacked with the skateboard, I was pretty desensitized to everything else. In fact I found the first 20 minutes of the film funny actually. I swear the girl in the opening scene with Telly went on to do porn . Face looked too familiar .

I've seen all of Larry Clark's films and Ken Park is still the most shocking of all of them however. Remember having to order it from Canada because it was banned for a while in the U.S.

Fun fact.. the club scene was filmed at The Tunnel, the infamous (used that word intentionally because all the Prodigy stories) club.

I saw this around when it came out as well. even as a 17 year old, I knew them rape scenes was cringy as hell.

hell, it looked like a movie we was NOT supposed to be watching. like it looked like they were actually teenagers doing drugs and having sex :whoa:
