A little Thursday morning knowledge drop. Yesterday I was reading and commenting on a forum where there were guys saying Conor McGregor sucked and he was over rated etc. The list of names he has beat is amazing but that wasn't the point. The point was, they were saying his Jiu-Jitsu sucked and he wasnt a brown belt. Their argument for that was Nate Diaz subbed him, and he couldn't do anything to Chad Mendez on the ground (he beat them both mind you) This sparked something with me because of the illusion some people get about a Jiu-Jitsu black belt.

Chad Mendez would absolutely beat the fukk out of 99% of Jiu-Jitsu black belts in the world. Yes 99%. Think of all the black belts you know Chad size or a little bigger and then smaller. Now think of how many of them have ever had a complete SAVAGE wrestler, with great groud awareness, and monster ground and pound on top of them trying to punch and elbow a hole in their head.

There are MANY MANY Jiu-Jitsu black belts now. 99% of them could defend themselves against 99% of the world. However, dont confuse a "Jiu-Jitsu black belt" with a battle tested gnarly grinder that would make most JJ black belts want to somehow get back to their feet, where they would most likely get knocked out there too. I am a Jiu-Jitsu black belt, but I fall in the category mentioned above. Marcelo Garcia beat me in a Jiu-Jitsu match at ADCC, but ask the promoters who the first person asking to fight him was when he decided to dabble in MMA.

Levels.

Horrible for who? Khabib stand up game is not very good and connors is great. If that left hand touches khabib.its jose aldo pt 2. Now if conor hasnt been working on tdd and bjj then thats a different story but i doubt it. I just hope it goes through.
Dude literally has a Marcelo Garcia black belt in his camp in Dillion Danis who trains with him everywhere. People really don't understand the levels to this shyt. Connor been working his ass off with his wrestling and bjj. Chad Mendes is a fukking MONSTER especially in the takedown game. Khabib has great control on the ground but nowhere near the variety to get it there like Chad. If folks think it's just so easy to get Connor to the ground asked Eddie Alvarez why he didn't? Eddy is another monster wrestler(we see what he Anthony Pettis and others) you think he didn't want to test Connor on the ground? There is a reason, if people think Connor grappling still the same as against mendes they are sadly mistaken. Dude even hit a x guard sweep against Nate in there second fight, if folks even know what that is. Yes I agree with you about khabib hands your spot on.

You saw how he did Barbosa, and Barbosa is far from a bytch with his hands and feet.

IF and i am IF Khabib has his head on right, this should be BBQ chicken for him. Conor's advantages have always been the mental aspect, dude's like Tyson in reverse. When Tyson damn near beat you at the staredown and shook, Conor got you gassed up crazy and going out your element trying to knock his block off.
Barbosa is a dangerous kicker nowhere near the level of boxing Connor has. Barbosa has the same issue Anthony Pettis has, BOXING. Close the distance force them to use there hand, also makes better to clinch or get the takedown. That's why khabib gave him zero space, distance was khabib enemy because barbosa would get off those vicious kicks. Can't do that shyt with a fighter like Connor, khabib comes on Connor like he did barbosa (wreckless because he didn't respect Barbosa boxing) khabib will pay dearly I promise you.

Wait, are casuals in here really trying to make a case that Conor’s stupid ass could tap Khabib because he’s been training with Dillion Dannis?

Like Khabib who’s specialty is grappling doesn’t train ju jitsu defense? Like the guy has 26 fights and was in the guard of all those opponents but Conor’s gonna rap him because he trains with Dillon?

Not 3rd degree black belt badasses like Rafael Dos Anjos, Gleison Tibau, Thiago Tavares, etc...but chicken leg ass Conor with no cardio?

UFC FAILED US ALL TODAY
It's just ununderstandable from the UFC that there were no fans today. Biggest fight ever, no fans. It gave Khabib a breather from the intensity, that really hurts the promotion of the fight. He must feel way more confident now than if there had been fans. It looked small, it worked a little for Khabib but McGregor as a show man needs a crowd. Now his jabs were met with Khabib saying "ask your friend why he take the slap??". It was awkward.

THE FIGHT
If Connor touches his chin clean - it's over. Not 1x clean maybe. No, 1x clean to wobble him, 1x clean to get him down. Let him get back up. 1-2-3x clean on his chin..

It's over.

The most important aspects of this fight imho:

1. Connor's left hand.
It will put most men to sleep on the first hard hit, and all men his size to sleep if it happens more often

2. Experience
Khabib is another level at 26-0 BUT he's only fought 2 top 5 UFC fighters and has never had a super fight (he may not. E nervous

3. Khabib's chin
Most important thing that was said today was what McGregor said about Khabib being wobbled and him not wanting to get hit and how when someone doesn't want to get hit the left hand feels like a shotgun.

This is true.

Khabib's grappling is GREAT. But we saw him throw out the plan against Iaquinta. His coach even said that after, that he wanted him to take him down but that Khabib pretty much does what he wants.

Mental warfare plays a huge role. Nobody does that like McGregor.. insulting his dad, his country, his manager etc. it. His manager and everybody being upset and all the insults may lead Khabib to see this as an actual fight and to throw out the plan again to really fight (strike) with Conor - which makes it a crazy fight and Conor's chances of landing clean shots will increase the more Khabib throws out the plan.

Tap? This isn't a bjj match. Do you understand grappling when strikes are involved? Do you train because if you do you wouldnt be making ignorant statements. Why would Connor go to khabibs strength? This is about what type of damage will khabib will be able to take to close that distance and clinch. Alot of khabibs takedowns are from body locks and closing the distance. Also I referenced the black belt because in bjj it teaches how to get back to your feet from off your back, training with black belts of high level will increase your ability to get to your feet. So I say that saying Connor will be alot better at keeping this fight standing or getting back to his feet if took down. But you would know this IF you trained.

Ah I see, you have my attention now. So to paraphrase you believe Khabib will have difficulty taking Conor down and even if he does get him down you believe he will sustain damage due to Conor training combat Bjj?
