The Endangered Black Family is a must-have book for every black household.

When I was a teen, these books were everywhere in NYC.

You just had to walk down 125th Street in Harlem, the Fulton Mall in Brooklyn or on Jamaica Ave in Queens and your curiosity kicked in.

We have YouTube videos and social media platforms attempting to provide similar info, but there are too many distractions. The focused process of reading the written word hits the brain differently and more impactful.

But these gender wars aren’t that simple for me. There are real legitimate psychological issues that blk men and women need to unpack to have healthy relationships. And they have to unpack them against the backdrop of a white washed society that already is poisoned to its very core in terms of how it understands how men and women relate to one another. And due to the dysfunction already embedded in Western understandings of male/female, blackness/whiteness, Jezebels/black bucks, we have to be careful not to identify with the lies that have been told about our community, while still addressing legitimate concerns impacting our race.

I think it’s hilarious because all I see is a bunch of mentally ill, lonely black people trying to go to other races and literally being licks for non-blks to profit off of. My whole mindset is that if you can’t make it work with 42 million people in ur own community, Pedro, Mei Lin, Chad, Becky ain’t gon make it better. We just spreading dysfunction.
But I do think some blk people need to date out more so they can stop romanticizing other races of people. When you see the fukkery in other communities, it makes u appreciate a lotta shyt in our own.

As someone who has had a front row seat to the shyt white females and white men go through with in each other… me not want. Believe it or not our shyt is little leagues in comparison. Only issue is that our problems are amplified by social conditioning and racial/socioeconomic disparities.
They going through epic fukkery and they literally live in a world handcrafted for them.
Grass is NOT greener. Which is why I just can’t get down with non-blk answers to blk problems.

But I digress, I’ll never be a Samuelite but if people get something out of his content then good for them. I think it does more harm than good ultimately but that’s just me.

Yikes! I don’t put much stock into horoscopes but it’s hella interesting to see how personalities align with the stars so to speak.

Looking back at it, the Million Man March was literally a Hail Mary/ last ditch attempt to strike back against the "real nikka" culture of dysfunction that has the black youth in a stranglehold. Sad that all positive black media was snuffed out the very next year (1996).

This also the era when L.A. gang culture begins to take hold in cities across the nation, including NYC, which no one could have predicted even in the very early 1990s.

Yeah, that "real nikka" culture gotten even worse when Pac and BIG died. Parody status, even. Like, everyone gotta be some superthug without a "Keep your head up" or a super playa with no direction. A lot of Hip Hop got stagnated with the way of thinking, and a lot of black folk doubled down on that crabs in a barrel thinking, even in public schools. I remember a "nerd" black kid that minded his own business, gotten jumped and almost dying because he simply minded his business and not engage in that lifestyle. People cussed out on any form of black empowerment and alienated on black folk not down with the "real nikka" stagnant paradigm. Thinking about it, the late 90s was Hell for black males not on that Thug Life, socially.

Toxic hypermasculinity is a problem amongst the community and other communities.

Generally it tends to be more of a problem amongst communities where people don’t have much else other than their dikks.

Kevin Samuel speaks as if it’s an intrinsic trait or defect in Black men that is absent in other men , devoid of any context. That might be a subtle distinction to some but it isn’t to me. It’s white supremacist rationale.

A more nuanced examination of hypermasculinity amongst Black communities would probably entail some perspectives that get dismissed as “liberal” or “feminist” or something.

I guess you gotta be a closet homosexual Thomas Sowell acolyte in a 3-piece suit passionately preaching Black pathology and saying “”dikks and “balls” with a Farrakhan: the zesty version cadence to gain traction here.
