For over twenty years I've tried to watch color purple but I can't and just turn it off. It's disgusting.

I was a 90s child and I remember how Ricki Lake, Jenny Jones, Sally, etc did to black men with those day time talk shows.

don't forget the longest perpetuator of this in maury, who's doing this to this day.

Color Purpler was a literally attack on ADOS men. I'm not even ADOS and as a kid I felt some kinda way about it when I saw it. I dont think people understand the conditioning the media did in the 80s and 90s. We were happy with 'representation' not realizing what it conditioned us for. Its a reason all these chicks say "I want 90s RnB love", remove the talent and listen to the lyrics of those men, literally begging to be servants.
This is why I always stress the importance and power of storytelling

People become numb because we're exposed to it daily but books/shows/songs/movies teach us how to communicate and live

Storytellers and musicians are the sorcerers of society

Almost stop watching because this nikka would talk for a hour 15 then do one call

I'm not watching those shows. he doesn't post 20 minute clips anymore. I cannot sit thru 2-3 hours of him bullshytting. cut to the chase.

And I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum. I enjoy the monologue much more than the calls.

I don't need to hear delusional people call in, I rather much hear the "coaching/advise" for the first hour of the show than the call in's unless it's "men's night"

Im the same. I love the monologues and fukking hate the calls. It’s nothing but ugly women calling in not sticking to the topic and having horrible discussions not to mention Kev having technical issues 9 times outta 10 during the calls.

That gay writer for that show that wrote in those distasteful Coretta jokes said that black men wearing suits is corny.

But in real life it’s quite the contrary :wow:

i think Kevin changed some shyt around ATL, I was getting approached by broads that I know don’t be fukking with squares in my shyt. I don’t even like wearing suits and it’s been a minute since I been to a real official function

Wearing a suit means you are a square?
