The most ridiculous shyt ever heard. But If I dress like Westgunn the streets will love me, I’ll have repeck & my ppl know I keep it real.

Ive come to the conclusion that a lot of “brehs” on here are scared to grow up and scared to leave their comfort zone. Like why are there men on here twice my age saying dressing like this is acceptable? Ppl complaint about bills being passed and fair treatment, but they still don’t get it.

I’ve heard the notion of men / even black men “giving up” at certain age; but I didn’t think it was true, until reading this BS.

Business slacks and sneakers can’t go wrong. Coming out the hood I gotta maintain certain aspects of the stylings we came up on no matter how high I elevate. Black tee/White tees, high socks, sweats worn certain ways. Tucking the Nike pants in sock a lil bit after working out or hooping. Even if it’s just rubberband around the wrist haha

I pull out the loafers here and there when appropriate. Otherwise it’s sneaks.

Of course not. I know where you’re at but text format ain’t always the best. You want Black men to dress better and have a better appearance my issue is why. KS’ motivation IMO is to please white people and that’s my point of contention. If you gonna dress up, do it for you, do it for us, not to get on the treadmill of white respectability. You can easily weave fashion sneakers into a semi-casual fit. The whole "you cant wear Jordans" mantra is played out. If you know how to dress, you will dress well.

Its not even that complicated tbh, and I dont think black men frown at the idea of dressing well.

I dress up all the time but I don’t like this advice because why should I have to have a suit on to be treated like the average white man in flip flops and chino shorts? This is c00n shyt to deflect off of white supremacy. Do we have personal agency? Yes. Do I dress suited and booted? Yes. But I also realize that I’m just a nikka in a suit especially when I’m anywhere upscale.
