I personally think suitsupply puts together some great outfits. check their IG page.

My style is on the preppy side, so when I was figuring what worked for me I went to Pinterest and searched for preppy styles and that really helped. That was years ago though, I’m not aware of any particular resources for men’s fashion.

When you say preppy I assume Northeast. I used to dress that way but I stopped probably 4 years ago but it's also location dependent. I like Suitsupply but their sizing is horrendous for someone like myself that has big legs and broad shoulders. I go MTM on some clothes.

As much as I like the idea of dressing up I don't like the idea of respectability politics. I also know in reality that no matter how much we say "never judge a book by its cover" and we shouldn't be "judged" on how we dress the reality is for the most part we are judged so I say take advantage of it.

Yeah we are definitely judged by our appearance as humans but socially the rules dont apply across the board.

Makes no difference.

Only a weak superficial man believes his attire will lessen his 'Blackness' and white people will love you and not shoot on sight.

Would you think the Nation Of Islam then?

Their strict dress code is nothing but suits.

I am all for fashion and my dress style ranges from a Kevin Samuels to a Curren$y. But I am reading that some of you brehs feel like you have to dress a certain way to garnished some sort of respect in public? No matter what you wear as long as you walk around with confidence you will get respect.

Depends on your age and goals. I really think that you can use your wardrobe as a tool to get what you want whether it's that first date, have a conversation with a potential business partner, or anything else you want in life.

It doesn't have to be suits. For some people's world it is. I know some folks wearing ill fitting clothes, not taking pride in how they present themselves or they simply don't care.

Really it's just a conversation or perspective. Frankly if I feel like I look and smell good I perform better in the arena of life I'm operating in that day.
