I don't like this argument. So every time I step outside the house I have to be in a suit and tie?

I took something away from Mrs. Sharzzarda Ali and she said that man and son should at least wear hard bottom shoes at least once or twice a month.

It changes your walk, she says.

She explains it more in her book on why black men should wear hard bottoms.

KS may be thinking about his era when he had to dress up a lot as a kid..
Idk.

It's 100 degrees in NOLA and the humidity is a bytch, I ain't dressing up no every day. Lol.

I understand Kevin. I truly do, but he really downplays racism and its psychological effects.

Saying Birth of a Nation started the second Klan is like saying Uncle Tom's Cabin helped free enslaved people. It completely overlooks our efforts to control our image and how white folks violently respond to us. 1877-1917 was the disenfranchisement of black people in the South after reconstruction. Before the Birth of a Nation, lynching existed. Jim Crow started in1896.

We can have a conversation about the image. I have read Tommy Curry, btw. (I even cite him in my work)

The heat here is unbearable from May to september. ppl dont get it.

Dressing up here is a button up, slacks/polo, and dress shoes. Suits are cool when it actually gets cold. Business casual is what I wear when I go to the office. Maybe a light sweater if it's cold.

Hard bottom shoes hurt the shyt out of my feet and my doctors say I shouldn't wear them. I wear cole haans with the sneaker type bottom.

it doesn’t even take wearing a suit. In the summer, I wear a polo shirt, chino pants/shorts and boat shoes. Just from wearing that, I often get a great response from people, when out and about.

I get the critique regarding the gear, but them overaccessorized getups ya posting ain't it, way too on the nose and generally require too much of a shift for the average cat. A pair of selvedge jeans, some crewnecks, and low key kicks are examples of more realistic transition pieces.
The maison margiela's are a staple

Is he right? Some of us were having a discussion in the Kevin Samuels discussion and he mentioned how black men frown upon the idea of wearing a sportsjacket or a suit now and how it affects.

He starts at 35:00

He's one of the types that says Black men shouldn't be rocking Jordans in their late 20s, 30s, and 40s. What do you think?

Timeless and classic without looking corny. Casual/Smart-Casual stuff.

Thanks @TEH for the link.

It goes both ways. Both of them need to end the call.

I still don't understand why folks call into the show to argue with him. He is unwavering. You are unwavering.

I agree but it wasn't an argument he should have entertained with her with their personality types but everyone messes up.
