Players are more versatile in today's game. Add in coaches are becoming guru's earlier than later and now have the "players with multi skill sets" so they dont have to limit the offensive schemes. Look at Bron, Joker, KD Giannis, all these players can handle the rock, pass, stretch the floor and shoot. All while having the frame of power forwards/ Centers.
