That’s your opinion… But I’m far from an MJ Stan…. Appreicate Kobe’s gift but that’s because I’m a Laker company man… :manny:
You probably just watched the best teams and the Lakers so your perception is skewed which makes sense. The Lakers were good when they had Kobe. If you only focused on the great teams, your perception is likely skewed

Lakers and the Celtics weren’t iso…. They sparked the league….. Kareem was an iso post player in the beginning of his career and won a chip in the process….. Jordan made the league a juggernaut based off of his iso abilities…. You bullshyttin saying otherwise…(he broke out of the triangle countless times) Kobe carried the torch by being a tremendous iso player… hence why he’s your favorite ball player’s ball player…
You typing a lot of convoluted stuff to show the league wasn’t built on ISOball.

Defenders are longer than they were back then and it’s harder to get into the paint now versus back when Clyde played.
His 3 was broke but his midrange was money and he was constantly among the leaders at his position in rebounds, steals and assist. No one in the lane he beats you off the dribble and its a dunk. Those portland teams he wasnt dominating the ball like he would be today
I see him scoring a cpl pts more than his average simply off space to operate. They issue with him would definitely when he's forced to his off-hand, but I still see him doing damage.
I think Clyde's handles were to limited imo

Agreed there's no chance Clyde could "dominate the ball" in today's game, he only dribbled with his right and always had his head down. His handles are not at the level of a ball-dominant PG of today.

And no, his midrange was not money, it was streaky and he especially struggled in the big moments. He'd bury them one night and look broke the next. Form was too wack to be consistent.

I don't know where some of y'all came up with the idea that there wasn't room to get into the lane in the 1990s. It was far easier to get in the lane back then when the illegal defense rules meant players couldn't leave their guy and hedge the driving lanes. Clyde scored mostly on fast breaks, drives, and cuts, it wasn't like centers were stopping him very often. I've posted Finals clips on here where guys keep getting to the basket untouched over and over again. Y'all spend too much time thinking about Hakeem, Robinson, Ewing when most teams didn't have no one like that. Just look at the Finals teams - they were starting Duckworth, Divac, Cartwright, West, Longley, Perkins, Foster....you really think those guys are scary rim protectors single-handedly keeping drivers out of the lanes?

Clyde's best attributes were athleticism for his size, unselfishness, great body control and incredible touch around the basket. He was in the perfect era for his skill set - he'd still be a baller today but he wouldn't be as well-fitted to the era as he was then.

Y’all notice how lebron scores better and easier now than ever in his career?

I agree with KD :manny:
League shooting averages across Bron's career:

Pretty much says everything we know:

- League went from 19% of shots being threes in '04 to 40% in 2022.
- Better spacing inside so 2pt percentage went up
- Less reliance on getting to the FT line
- TS% and eFG% way up due to more 3's

Basically, wide open offenses and less restrictive defensive rules have helped scorers. :manny:

It ain’t convoluted at all… You just want it to be…. MJ plus marketing made the NBA the behemoth it is today(currently) based off his iso ability….. The 2nd player behind him is more than likely Kobe for the exact same reason….. AI had the league on his back for about 5 years due to his iso ability. y’all act like Giannis didn’t give everyone a lil taste of hero ball this past finals… and people loved it

So why wouldn't Jordan and Kobe be highly effective this era with stacked 3 point shooting around them?

Who tf is stopping them 1v1 and racking up a bunch of foul calls while everyone else on defense is spread thin and worried about outside shooting?

Look at the damage a 6'2 three level scorer like Kyrie does. Dealing with the taller versions would be infuriating to scheme against.

James Harden averaged almost 40 a few years ago. Why are you arguing with these mouthbreathers?
