"manny" he didnt adapt so he been dead weight for a while now. I dont think he is that good to be honest, this is another example of internet hype going wrong..

I'm amazed people are pretending KENTA was that good before joining WWE. He stopped being elite A LONG ass time ago, easily a couple of years before he started in NXT.

When he got signed we were even going :whoa: at people acting like the E' had gotten this super worker like it was 2009. And now that he got release I see excitement like he was on fire in 2013-2014, when he was already a couple of years past his prime :manny:

I'm not trying to say he was some amazing guy before he made the jump; the knee injuries robbed him of his unassailable greatness before he even won the GHC Title. And all the injuries he picked up when he got to WWE didn't help either. But he did have flashes here and there whenever I did take the chance to watch him, so I'm not going to just toss him in the garbage as if he's someone I'll never like again.

Sure, the Marufuji match was nothing special. But I'll give him a chance if/when he decides to go back to Japan. If he ends up revitalized, great. If his body's completely shot from all the punishment and injuries, well, I'll just have to deal with that (and shyt, even then he might have something to offer. Even broken down Tenzan was worth a couple of good matches a year for a time).

Yeah, I think nobody's expecting him to become a big-time player again, but if he can secure a somewhat proper post-WWE career he'll leave a better legacy behind than withering away in WWE any longer.

For real, he was really disappointing in WWE. Still a decent worker at this stage cuz he's a smart veteran but that's about it.

This departure works for both parties.
