The biggest bust of all time. :francis:

Sin Cara is probably the biggest bust. He was legit one of the biggest drawing stars in the world at his height when he signed with WWE, got wellnessed in his first year, did nothing but botch for the next 2 years, went back to Mexico with bootleg names instead of going back to Mistico for some reason. KENTA signed when he was already on a clear decline from where he was a few years prior matchwise and physically, doing very little to keep NOAH out of its death spiral. At least KENTA came in already past his prime and injured/injury prone so no one was expecting terribly big things from him to begin with. Sin Cara was like...this dude is the next Rey Jr, for real this time, gigantic star....immediately shyts the bed, entire run is only known for how often he botched. His longest singles match his entire run was with Curtis Axel on Main Event :mjlol:

I forgot all about Sin Cara:snoop:

They went all out for dude. They used to dim the lights for his matches like they were some kind of event and he was heavily featured in their Scooby Doo movie. Dude tripped up doing his entrance, he quit a match because he broke his finger and I know that had to hurt his stock bad backstage.

NJPW's Kenta Says His Time In WWE Was The Worst, Talks Possibly Facing Jon Moxley | Rajah.com

NJPW superstar KENTA recently spoke to Sports Illustrated to hype up the promotion's 8-man tournament for a shot at the IWGP United States champion (Jon Moxley), as well as discuss a variety of pro-wrestling related topics. Highlights are below.

What he's been doing during quarantine:

I was just staying healthy and safe. I don’t know if you guys like my new hair, but I’m like the Justin Bieber now in this business. I don’t want to grow my hair, I just don’t want to go to an American barber. American barbers have the worst technology. I’ll cut it off soon when I can go to Japan.

On being in the tournament for the IWGP United States championship:

I said many times that I’m going to prove that I’m the best pro wrestler in this business. That’s why I’m here. I’ve had ridiculous past feelings here in America, and I want to get rid of that humiliation. That’s why this tournament is a great opportunity for me. And I want to get the belt from Moxley. Honestly, a few years ago, Moxley and I were at different levels. But I don't feel like that now.

On possibly facing Jon Moxley:

Life is funny. I think no one thought Moxley would do a match with me a few years ago. But if I win this tournament, it could come true. This is the best chance. I’ll shut up those who looked down on me. That is one of my motivations.

Talks his run as NEVER Openweight champion and how he hopes to bring that prestige to the U.S. belt:

I’m going to be the first-ever Japanese IWGP U.S. Champion, and I’ll bring that belt to a higher level. My time with the NEVER belt was like a greeting for fans of New Japan. I had to prove that I’m a person who can aim for higher levels with NEVER. And the U.S. title has a totally different feeling. A few years ago, a guy who fell in America surprised the world with U.S. title. Don’t you think it’s the coolest story? I’ve never forgotten my American humiliation. If I have the belt, it will get more attention from both Japanese and American fans.

Why NJPW is a better fit than WWE/NXT:

It may have been possible [in WWE] to satisfy myself as I was in the “world’s largest organization”. But as a wrestler, I now prioritize what I want to do. I can do what I want and where I want to now.

Calls his time in WWE the most frustrating of his life:

I’ve felt in my heart that the five years I spent in WWE were the most frustrating days of my life. I’ve talked about this, but I’ll always remember the humiliation in America. Being here reminds me of that regret. And when you’re not good, you tell yourself that. That is what inspires me.

Damn

Also didn’t help that Bryan and Punk were already in the WWE years beforehand doing all of his moves, so when Kenta got there, he was really nothing special at all.

:dead: kicking people hard is not something KENTA invented. By the time he got there, people/fans were begging for him to do the GTS because Punk was long gone. And he lost nothing by not doing the busaiku knee. which wasn't even a big move for him by the time he got to WWE...

Bryan and Punk, two guys that were heavily influenced by Kenta, used his style for years before he got there. For the WWE audience (not NXT smarks), he basically ended up being a guy “copying Punk and Bryan” and that was undeniable. He looked very regular, on top of the injuries holding him back. Bryan has been in the WWE for 10 years. Punk was there from 06-2014. Kenta came to the WWE in 2014...

Breh, what? :dead:

By your logic the "WWE audience (not NXT smarks)" started watching KENTA in 2018, four years removed from Punk's departure. The NXT audience was DYING to see him hit the GTS and got a huge fukking pop when he finally did it.

Neither Punk nor Bryan had the main thing that made KENTA, KENTA. That was his badass attitude and "chip on his shoulder/I'm going to kill no matter who you are" charisma.

Only thing Bryan took from KENTA was the knee. Which again, by 2013 KENTA wasn't even using as a big move so taking that away from him did nothing important. Kicking people is old as fukk, if anything let's talk how everyone copied Koji Kanemoto and even that is ridiculous. What made Bryan popular had nothing to do with anything that KENTA did in the ring and he wasn't heavily influenced by him, that's just plain wrong. And BTW both of them used shyt from their movesets, KENTA "copied" the LeBell Lock in Japan and called it Game Over years before Bryan used the flying knee against Cena :dead: no one said KENTA was copying DB, and rightfully so, it was just a fukking move/finisher.

The only thing Punk took from him was the GTS and I guess the flurry of offense that AJ also uses (don't see anyone making a big deal out of that, thankfully).

Did Punk and Bryan use moves from KENTA? Yes. Was it to the point that KENTA had no ground to stand on once he got to WWE? fukk no :heh: it was a couple of moves that could easily be replaced becase they weren't what made KENTA popular either. Dude is supposed to be a bad ass motherfukker that will take shyt from no one and kick your head off till you are unconscious THAT is what made him great (and he got back to it as soon as he got to New Japan).

WWE not letting him be that, booking him like any other person on the roster (meaning: like shyt) AND him being past his prime were the reasons his sting there was "bleh". Punk and Bryan using a couple of moves was really meaningless.

KENTA was past his prime even before WWE came calling so even if he didn't have the injuries, getting immediately shoved aside for Balor, and general WWE booking of Japanese talent, the world wasn't getting 2004-2008ish KENTA regardless. I remember watching some of his last NOAH matches as heavyweight champion and being pretty bummed because it definitely wasn't what I remembered of KENTA and that was what... 6-7 years ago now?

This sure is a lot of words to not actually be saying anything. You must be a fan of HHH promos. You also don’t really have any concept of time.
