NAAH U MADE SOME VERY SUSPECT POSTS IN THIS THREAD AND HAVE AWFUL TAKES WHEN IT COMES TO ANALYZING NBA PLAYERS TBH

NOTHIN AGAINST U PERSONALLY, U JUST COME OFF AS A CASUAL

AND CONSIDERING EVEN 21 YEAR OLD KOBE IS A FAR BETTER BASKETBALL PLAYER THAN ANY VERSION OF LEBRON, YEA, IF U FAVORED KOBE OVER LEBRON THAT WOULD ABSOLUTELY CHANGE EVERYTHING...

BUT U DONT, SO IMA HAVE TO KEEP IT A BUCK WIT U

So enlighten me then if I cant evaluate basketball. What made 21-year old Kobe a better player than any version of LeBron?

BETTER FOOTWORK, BETTER SHOT, BETTER HANDLES, BETTER DEFENSE.. JUST BETTER BASKETBALL SKILL IN GENERAL. LEBRON HAS NEVER HAD THE NATURAL FEEL FOR THE GAME THAT KOBE HAD. THATS WHY HIS GAME ALWAYS LOOKED CLUNKY AND FORCED.

HE PLAYED HIS CAREER FOR STATS AND ACCOLADES TO FOOL PEOPLE LIKE U, AND IT WORKED.

I don't trust most people who played in the league in the 80s or 90s as analysts of all time lists.
They tend to say the players they played worse so much better, specially an average dude like Kenny, cause in his head he could've been an all-star player in Kobes era :camby:
Kenny being a potential all-star means nothing. There are plenty of average. below average players who have been all-stars

Why do you think he shot 36% you don't think his lack of help had anything to do with that
:mjlol:

U don't think facing one of the G.O.A.T. defense as a heavy underdog (66 wins to 45 wins) had anything to do with that?

U think Delonte West is a good second option against a team with Pierce/Garnett/Allen :mjlol:

Do you not see this was a defensive series with several games decided in the 70's and 80's.

Did you see the "No Regard for Human Life" dunk on Garnett or when he dropped 45 against Paul Pierce in game 7 and lost?

The reason Kobe's efficiency gets brought up more than LeBron or Jordan's is because Kobe was more inefficient than both.
Oh wow LeBron had a dunk and one good game. Well Willie Burton once scored 50 points in a game.

LeBron is 3rd and Kobe is 5th on my list by the way :manny:

And the funny part of this argument is that statistically LeBron and Kobe played the totality of their careers in a tougher era to score than Jordan :shaq2:
:mjlol:No one with even half a brain would buy that it's tougher to score now than back in the day. I have Kobe 2nd behind MJ and I flip flop with LJ & Magic at 4th & 5th.

ok, I understand what you meant. For me the way people seem to be unable to mention one without the other would make you think they were rivals when they barely played each other enough to be considered acquaintances.
It's been made a rivalry because LeBron was getting compared to Jordan basically from Day 1 and Kobe stans took exception to the hype so they've made a point to downplay him. Some of these dudes have said the media has tried to "erase" our memory of Kobe as if he isn't...Kobe lol

We’re not talking about “now”. Kobe played from 1996-2016. LeBron is in the twilight of his career and has played from 2003-2020.

LeBron and Kobe were drafted in the middle of the dead ball era the toughest era in NBA history for scoring and played in a very balanced defensive early 2010’s NBA. Jordan was drafted into a scoring era and it wasn’t until around his first retirement that the pace began slowing down and becoming more defensive oriented. That’s why the league responded by shortening the three point line which benefitted Michael and many others.

Jordan played from 1984-1998 and then had the Wizards years. In LeBron and Kobe’s career stretches on average they faced teams with better defensive ratings, longer defenders, zone defenses, and flat out played in a more advanced league.

The 80’s or “back in the day” was a very easy era to score. A high paced era with some of the highest volume scorers and highest scoring games in NBA history. An offensive friendly era known for exciting play and stars taking the league out tape delay go watch the NB80’s documentary. That was Jordan’s athletic prime and when he put up his gaudiest statistics.

The offense of the 80’s has only been matched by the current pace and space era that began around 2016.

LeBron struggled badly the first two games he was pretty dominant the rest of the series. So no he didn’t have one good game. Celtics were also again the way better team.

21 points and 8 assists, 21 points and 13 assists, 35 points, 32 points, 45 points in the last 5 games.
