Nah G. I'm asking what's the reason behind that particular interpretation when he's stated before that he invites competition.
And I've also said, many times here and elsewhere, that I'm a fan of neither more than the other. They both have strong points and they both have flaws. I think Kendrick was whylin to release that verse and it not be his best verse. I think Lupe took some very direct shots at him that he didn't reply to and I questioned that.

That's very narrow, singular thinking to say that, because someone questions something that they are a Stan.

Why is he optimistic about selling a million first week when his last album didn't come anywhere near that? :manny:

He feels some type of way, and that's okay :ehh:

You're conflating my questions with other people's points. You seem to have pinned down Drake's motives pretty well (or speculated well) about them. My only question is why doesn't he want to engage people in the same way he's engaged others? What's good for the goose isn't good for the gander? I never implored him to respond on wax. I asked why he's saying that he doesn't want to engage. He's done it before, as you just stated. Why not now?

What are you talking about? He said he's not fukking with K Dot.

...Now what?

Listen to the Angie Martinez interview. Dude said look. I rap better than damn near all of ya'll. Lets be real...but if ya'll really want this wax shyt, then I'll give it to you...BUT i won't fire the first shot.

lol, wow youre defensive

but
yea.. hov learned from that, he was just tryna spit some wisdom at drake bruh

not defensive. trying to be historically accurate is all. Hov definitely avoided petty feuds (Cam, Jim Jones, 50) but it may be because the major feud of his life, that he started out of his own feelings about whatever it was...ended in...

Not really . He sounds like kdot ( his reasoning for not responding to anyone who dissed him back ) despite saying he wanted to bring this element to hip hop.

Really ??? Don't bring up any kind of sales when comparing drake and kdot your stanning going too far . That's very stupid to say , those are real life issues . What you want to hear about Syria ?? What makes kdot so deep ? Rapping project windows stories ?
Drake doesnt bring a spin to his music on this new album to personalize it in a way for me to give a fukk about his world. He just sounds like a clown, o and a fukkboy. Anonymous haters and failed relationships who cares. I have no reason to care about this clown or what hes goin through and cant relate to these unknown females. I mean shyt nikka you settle down or you fukk bytches. fukk all this internal struggle bullshyt. I cant respect an artist that cant perform all his songs.

, Kendrick joint on Drakes album may have brought more serious listeners in who considered Drake "too rnb". By associating with real spitters it helps to legitimize Drake as an MC. Drake aint dumb, he knows this.
the exact reason why he got a song called wutang forever on his new album

Publicity stunt or not, Kdot tossed Drake an alley with that control verse. All Drake had to do was deliver a lord knows/stay schemein type of verse with dudes name and make it a bonus bonus track.
Not only would he have better first week sales, but he'd gain more respect as a rapper for a direct response on wax as opposed to sounding bitter in interviews.

But instead of throwing that shyt down, he took his ball and went home.

yes guys KDot literally meant he wants their careers to end :comeon:
And one of them (@blackslash ) is a jay stan ffs. These nikkas wana talk about lyrics, triple entendres and shyt but now wanna act like they don't know what kendricks verse meant.

I know we are all bias at times but can you's not even be a little bit objective for once?
As a kdot stan I'm not even denying that the track could've just been a gimmick and not 100% genuine but if that's the case drake would have the perfect angle to use against kendrick especially with the type of fanbase kendrick has. So the only logical reason I can think of for him not going at kdot is that he ain't confident in his own ability to take kendrick on lyrically.
If drake responded and Kendrick came back and destroyed him (which I think he's capable of and drake knows this but we'll ignore that since I'm a stan :yeshrug:) It would be the start of the end of his career.

All drake would have to do is give kendrick a decent response directly acknowledging control and not get murdered in their future back and forth and he would gain the respect of the naysayers and "hip hop heads" which I know he wants to have.
So you tell me now why he wouldn't want to respond?

Watch the second video from 4:19 :steviej:
Drake: "There's a couple other people I thought woulda called my name by now and never did," :smugbiden:

Angie martinez:: "oh is that what you're waiting for, the name call":steviej:

Drake: "I'm waiting for it Im ready for it" :lupe:

"Not waiting for it but I'm ready for it" :whew:

Angie Martinez: "Nice" :troll:

Drake: "I'm not the guy, but there's a reason why they don't call my name, I'm not the guy, I'm not the one.

:aicmon:

Guys feel free to correct me as my memories a bit foggy atm but I've heard there's a rapper by the name of kendrick that did indeed called drakes name :ld:

The funny thing is drake actually dissed kendrick in the interview while kendrick said he WANTS to be the best in the game.
I'm usually homeboys with the same nikkas I'm rhymin' with
But this is hip-hop and them nikkas should know what time it is
And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big KRIT, Wale
Pusha T, Meek Millz, A$AP Rocky, Drake
Big Sean, Jay Electron', Tyler, Mac Miller

I got love for you all but I'm tryna murder you nikkas
Trying to make sure your core fans never heard of you nikkas
They don't wanna hear not one more noun or verb from you nikkas
What is competition? I'm trying to raise the bar high
Who tryna jump and get it?

Motherfukkers be all up in threads talking about who's got the best rhyme schemes, wordplay, punchlines that fly over peoples heads, double/triple entendres etc but can't fukkin understand what he's saying in a simple as verse like that. "omg kendrick said he wanted to murder these guys, I thought they were friends. Why would he want to destroy the careers of a fellow blackman? c00n!! "

:lupe:
