its so refreshing to get an album in rap with limited features and that does not have 11 people on a record..

as i said before from looking at the titles on the alleged tracklisting this really seems like a more coherent version of lauryn hill unplugged with better production....

the album is gonna be deep as hell....

im curious as to how that george clinton song is gonna be...

Do you guys have ideas on what we should do in the next week to help promote the album? We can't talk about iggy azalea and macklemore and then contribute by not supporting him and having him only sell like 200 thousand....

I know you're going to disagree, but I at least wanted ONE Hip Hop west coast legend like Cube or Ice T on the album like MC Eiht on GKMC... Would have been cool. Plus Ice T and Cube would have fit the theme of the album.

breh - you really needed to "decipher" that? There is nothing clever or hidden about the album title. You can't pimp a butterfly, so it's obviously a euphemism. All of Kendricks content is about the black struggle. Butterflies are a universal symbol of positive change or transformation due to their life cycle.

1+1 = 2. It's really not that deep.

I know you're going to disagree, but I at least wanted ONE Hip Hop west coast legend like Cube or Ice T on the album like MC Eiht on GKMC... Would have been cool. Plus Ice T and Cube would have fit the theme of the album.

but at the same time it may be best for guys like kendrick to make a mark themselves. even if he were to get cube and had a better verse dudes would be saying its because cube fell off so whats the point. now content wise i see what your saying since the cover may be paying homage to death certificate.

by the way you guys remember that talk last year about dj quik possibly being heavily involved...looks like that is not gonna happen so i wonder when he decided to change...

maybe he will be on the next solo and cube will be a feature

Dudes were saying he was being pretentious and only focused on the fact that the cover had young men with dollar bills in their hands and liquor acting a fool and not looking deep into what the picture was showing. but if maya angelou drew this picture and had a poem underneath titled "to pimp a butterfly" every blog and newsite..and music forums would be talking about how groundbreaking this is and deep she is being.

Kanyetothe may be a dumb forum, but reading through a poster named "CaptainCaptain" posted something about the album cover thats

I have a theory. The "thugs" on the front cover are in actuality the politicians true colors come to life. Perhaps theres a bit of backwards psychology here, as they are the very same crooks and hustlers our private prisons love to fill their cells up with.
