It’s not about the majority saying they’re good, the market is flooded. Even young mainstream rappers have lower bar of popularity compared to the generations before. Like I said, this is literally the most diversified era of music listening ever. Group think and popularity contests defined the 00’s IMO

There is no diversity in music at all.
There is no real separation in regional sounds.
And the content is all the same.
You probably couldn't even tell where a rapper is from by his sound anymore.

And the biggest are drill or thot rappers.
There's always going to be "other" acts but they are pretty much unknown.

That's why this Kendrick thing is funny cause it feels like people say he's popular. People know who he is but I ain't hearing people play his sh*t like Megan or sexy Redd.

Back in the day any talented rapper could be popular.

Game being a bipolar clout chasing goofy who loves the attention of BEING a bi-polar clout chasing goofy is completely his fault and directly linked to why he wasn’t on that stage when damn near every notable West Coast artist was. Just because somebody helped you in the past doesn’t obligate you to be bothered by their self destructive behavior in the future. Game is one of the most talented MC’s who ever lived but he’s also one of the dumbest. He’d really be a liability to what Kendrick actually DID accomplish the other night.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I agree with everything you said. The number one reason Game wasn't there was Game & his own actions. My original reply was to a conversation that suggested that Game didn't do shyt for some of these younger artists.

There's a lot of weirdos out there who still influenced others or helped pave the way. Doesn't change the fact that they're weirdos
