Of course it would reduce greatly

reread wut I wrote, I said it STARTS with that FIRST!!!

repeat that to yourself, you seem to be missing that message

that duznt mean that's tha only issue! Hell yeah there's racial injustice and systematic oppression! Kendricks addressed that thousands of times, even on this very song

but how many years of protests have happened and have these CACs actually changed anything??? No!!!

so wut do you suggest? Keep protesting? Or take initative and make a real change? That's wut Kendrick is advocating

Define taking initiative, what initiative is Kendrick advocating for?

If it's simply "love each other", what's been stopping us from loving each other for the last 20 years?

I think EVERYONE gets. It's not really that hard.

I think some of us are trying to figure out why he thinks the motivation of a gang member and the motivation of George ZImmerman is the same for killing someone.

You think Zimmerman and gang members are both holistically led to kill for the same reason? Like, you think George ZImmerman felt so bleak about his life choices and opportunities due to a system of oppression that he became the housing association patrol cop and killed Trayvon?

Because that's the only way this could be hypocrisy to the imaginary weeping gang members Kendrick is talking about.
:dwillhuh: why the fukk you talking about motivation for non-justifiable murder??

I said this is different from the black on black crime fallacy b/c it's not being used to retaliate against(or suppress) any protest(or discussion) against racially motivated crimes(or law).

I don't disagree with that at all. But what makes you a hypocrite is the following:

Yes our people have been disenfranchised but we have to stop justifying our issues as people solely on that disenfranchisement.

hypocrite does not mean what you think it means then. and your reading comprehension needs tuning. no one is justifying our issues solely on that disenfranchisement. in fact, the part of my post you quoted says "somewhat explainable", because, well, that disenfranchisement does play a part in our issues and denying it would be dismissive and borderline delusional

how you got "justifying our issues solely on" from "somewhat explainable" is amazing to me, especially when i had already stated the killing of black bodies is not justifiable earlier in the post

Kendrick can't offer any alternatives, he can just offer advice

if you love yourself as a black man put tha guns down and killing another black man is not tha answer

If you listen to wut he saying in his interviews and his new songs it's all about starting tha healing process from within

You have to love yourself as a black man, once you have came to that realization you won't want harm another black man who is a mirror image of yourself

maybe tha lyrics are too deep for your dumbass to understand?

Who are you talking to? Nobody in this thread is killing nobody. violent crime is at record lows in general. more blacks are in college than ever before. what kendrick is talking about applies to only a small minority of the black community.

The problem is the media and ignorant blacks who internalize self hatred define the whole black community by its smallest and worst elements. There will always be crime in every group. When you account for ecomonics the crime rates are equal regardless of race. Violence in the black community is nothing unique no matter how hard the media tries to spin it. Economics has always been the number one factor in crime. There is no point discussing "black on black" crime without discussing the systematic economic crimes committed against blacks through out this country's history.

Black people aren't shooting each other up just because we don't love each other, if we all somehow developed an unconditional love for each other right this second, do you think Black on Black crime would stop, do you seriously believe that?

:lupe:

I don't think black on black crime would ever stop, but I think that it would diminish...and if black people developed an unconditional love for each other blacks we would clash a lot more with whites and even other ethnicities. There'd be no c00ns at least if we all loved each other. There'd probably be a lot more nikkas dying by police hands. And the racial tension would go through the roof.

But that clash would incur a lot more personal sacrifices so it's easier to just kill nikkas or even just sneer at nikkas because they're the closest; so upon ourselves we incur the wrath and frustration handed down to us by the system. 'Cause deep down we know that clashing against society is more "dangerous" to us as individuals.

thoughts on the song:

- this shyt bangs....from the beat to the hook to how he spit to what he spitting, just rides...

- 1st and 2nd verse are that shyt...the aggression of those words, just damn....

- 3rd verse: while musically it sounds good, the payoff was a letdown cause of that last line and makes me smh....i get what he was saying, but to end the song on that note, just naw....especially after saying 'i'm as black as the heart of an aryan'...

- to touch more on why i disagree with the last line: yes, we (blacks) do need to address shyt in our communities, but just cause we do, doesnt mean that others will all of a suddenly treat us better once we do....that's a pipe dream, they are not a cause/effect...so while we work on our shyt, we still need to call them out on their shyt, but not equate the 2/make them seem tied to each other....which is what kendrick and a lot of the 'new blacks' try to do...

this is why I can't take tha Coli seriously on this issue, most of yall not even black Americans

Your not going to be able to relate

I told you kendrick is talking to his peers that's gangbangin

this song is not for you or most people in this thread, I don't know why you think it is

You coming here with your own Nigerean agenda and chip on your shoulder, complaining about a few blacks that mess it up for you and your image

This shyt ain't got nothin to do with you, it's about tha struggle of American blacks in tha inner city, so stop trying to apply it to yourself when it's not about you

actually he has...go back and read that interview he gave...hell, the line i talked about does that as well...just like others have done so when talking about violence, using the word ******/a, and other things as it pertains to the black community and how others interact with blacks...they like to say shyt like 'we cant expect others not to do (insert whatever) when we do it (to) ourselves'....that's putting the 2 together and/or acting like they are cause/effect, when they arent....if all blacks stopped using the word ******/a, do you really think non blacks would stop using that word? do you think if blacks no longer killed each other, that non blacks would no longer kill blacks?...no, but that's the type of shyt a lot of these new blacks are on....

It is about me cause I was born here and grew up in the inner city you clown.

And he aint talking to his peers. He is talking to the white fanbase that buys his music. And they will eat up his message cause it mirrors fox news talking points.

You going off topic

as far as kendrick he didn't equate tha two

he is rapping about himself as a banger in compton and saying if he is saddend by a black life being lost (in this example trayvon) then why duz he kill another black man

he never equated tha two

he's saying they are already killing us, why are we killing us too?

you adding stuff that he never said in his lines, not once did kendrick offer any excuses for Trayvons death, yall twisting his shyt up
