The more I think about it, the sentiment of this song is really the dumbest most disgusting shyt I've heard. He's basically saying we shouldn't get mad about being racial discriminated against, being murdered without cause because there's Black on Black violence too.

Kendrick is a fukking moron. Can we have a race draft? You whites can have him. I'd rather have Iggy than this goof.
He's been repeating this garbage over and over for a year now.

While I commend his attempt to be conscious. Its apparent that his views a severely driven by the white supremacy he thinks he's speaking out against.

Claiming blacks "came from the bottom of mankind" and that he's a "proud monkey" shows that dude is totally lost and needs to learn his own history

I felt like people aren't connecting the 1st and third verses.

In the first verse, he talks about how. Systematic racism has caused him to hate himself and turn into a killer. So when it comes to the third verse he asks why does he only care about the racism that caused the death of Trayvon, when that very same racism caused him to kill a black man without even batting an eye.
This!!!!

So a gang member can feel Trayvon's death was injust and not be a hypocrite, because they know the difference between someone living that life and someone who isn't

even murders doing life in prison who've done crazy ruthless shyt have lines and limits, like child molestation, rape, child killings, etc

go toprison for a murder of some kids or rape or some shyt like that, you gonna have hard time in that motherfukka

You're looking at this from the most basic level. If you are gang and have murdered a black man/woman you are destroying the black family structure just like George Zimmermans,Darren Wilson and the NYPD cop destroyed the family structures of the Browns,Garners, and the Martins. You are killing someones brother, father or uncle. The fact that gang-members may operate with a code to only harm those who are in the game doesn't mean anything. So yes,if you've murdered a black man/woman directly OR indirectly you're a hypocrite. You nikkas are in here getting emotional over a bar that wasn't even directed toward y'all.

Notice how in the "The Blacker The Berry" cover shows a mother breastfeeding two babies
I-by-Kendrick-Lamar.jpg

Now with "i" we have two opposing gang members (blood & crip) coming together,
Could this possibly be the two babies/brothers growing up?
The mother raised them as babies, now they look to the streets as their new mother

Lets go back to Section.80 & GKMC...

"You've ever seen a newborn baby kill a grown man"

"as a kid I killed two adults, I'm too advanced"

"If I told you I killed a nikka at 16, would you believe me?
Or see me to be innocent Kendrick you seen in the street"

Now back to the new song...
"Been feeling this way since I was 16, came to my senses"
"So why did I weep when Trayvon Martin was in the street?
When gang banging make me kill a nikka blacker than me?
Hypocrite!"

He's saying we need to stop killing our own brothers/people/b]
Notice how "I" is the positive while "TBTB" is the opposite.

Looks familiar? Two brothers who want the same thing, just approached differently.
Also we have the rumored initial track list. Notice the track "Both Sides Of The Story"
kendrick-lamar-tracklist.jpg

This may also coincide with 'Untitled' theme of unity & the fruits of life.

The album's narrative (probably fictional or probably not) involves Kendrick (or whoever's the main character) and his relationship to his brother. I say his brother because as you can tell by the artwork they're both sipping milk together from their mother's breast. They grow up together and one becomes a crip, the other a blood (i artwork). At the climax of the story kendrick ends up shooting his brother thus killing him. This song is definitely somewhere in the beginning of the tracklist while narrative wise taking place at the end of the story; remember how GKMC started off at the middle with Sherane and went all over the place? Expect something similar to that. The track 'Both sides of the story' will involve both kendrick and his brothers views as being from different gangs and how they split from each other to gangbanging. I know all of this sounds cliche but I'm sure this isnt the main part of the story but rather a side story going on in line with the bigger picture.
And before someone tries running up on me saying "the tracklist is fake" I'd like to point out that there are several indications from TBTB and 'i' that there's some kind of war atmosphere being portrayed and it falls in line with the leaked tracklist. I could be wrong bout everything and this could be a huge fukking reach but I'm just thinking out loud (obviously could've been a lot clearer about it but idc)

That's reach, George Zimmerman isn't destroy the black family structure, he had zero effect on my family, he's just a murderer who should be in JAIL

that's it, Trayvon's race shouldn't even matter, he was killed by a man and that man got away, this is the only reason people are outraged about the situation

all that shyt you said doesn't even compute into reality

DO people REALLY have an IQ below 70!???? How could they misinterpret "proud monkey???" Like you said he's MOCKING their view...

I can no longer hardly take anyone seriously on this thread.

White person calls you a nikka.

You say

Ima proud nikka

:stopitslime:

Wether its a mockery or not. Those aren't the words of a person who is truly proud of theirself, or the history and self worth

I said he destroyed the family structure of the Martins the same way a crip/blood destroys the family structure of (insert family here) when they take the life of a rival member. How can a nikka who has taken the life of a black man himself turn around and feel some type of way regarding the Trayvon Martin,Mike Brown situations without being a hypocrite? He's brought grief to a family just like Zimmerman did.He ended a black life just like Zimmerman did. That's where Kendrick is coming from.

Because it's two different situations, one is a killed or be killed situation, in a completely different environment

also the family structure is already destroyed THAT'S WHY THEY ARE IN A GANG IN THE FIRST PLACE

also gang members acknowledge they are wrong in their ways as well, so what the fukk are you even talking about

life is black in and white like that

the whole point of this line of thinking is deflect blame away from where it belongs

Trayvon's incident has nothing to with gang violence, so a gang member wouldn't be hypocrite to say it was unjust, because it is
