Though, a big part of what makes Ether for me is that Nas was more or less considered out, and don't think anyone expected what is basically The Destruction Of Camel on wax. Had peak Jay with Kanye on the boards, where Nas was seen in decline.
Comparatively, Kendrick has a "don't poke the bear" thing and I'm 100% certain someone warned Drake not to bite. But he believed too much in his ghost writing team and his corporate scale tipping.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I'd go a step further and say "Meet the Grahams" > "Ether". I've never witnessed a diss track in my life halt the momentum of someone so quick like that song did to "Family Matters". Kendrick made the entire rollout (video, letting streamers know, etc.) completely irrelevant after an hour. Not only that, but the song itself is
