Idk ether was on some Mike Tyson Joe Glass shyt

Nas was one foot out the door with rap and Jay was in top of the world

And nas hit him with the fight night flash knock out :banderas:

I hear you, but Drake was the most commercially successful artist at the time he got destroyed. The impact of this song was felt on a global scale, with people around the world reciting the lyrics word for word. It gained critical acclaim, ruled the sales charts, won Grammys and brought about the destruction of Drake’s public image. Jay took an L with Ether, but he still had his rep intact. Not Like Us dismantled Aubrey

This clears Ether by any measure

Its certainly had more impact so far. The song is a huge hit.

Though, a big part of what makes Ether for me is that Nas was more or less considered out, and don't think anyone expected what is basically The Destruction Of Camel on wax. Had peak Jay with Kanye on the boards, where Nas was seen in decline.

Comparatively, Kendrick has a "don't poke the bear" thing and I'm 100% certain someone warned Drake not to bite. But he believed too much in his ghost writing team and his corporate scale tipping. :pachaha: Begged Kenny to drop.

Different situations is all but I hold Ether up there for the unforseen Haymaker that dressed down Jay so well that he conceded defeat. We can appreciate both. :myman:

Maybe I'm in the minority but I'd go a step further and say "Meet the Grahams" > "Ether". I've never witnessed a diss track in my life halt the momentum of someone so quick like that song did to "Family Matters". Kendrick made the entire rollout (video, letting streamers know, etc.) completely irrelevant after an hour. Not only that, but the song itself is :picard: and completely buried Drake. Not Like Us was the dancing on his grave, but MTG was the real nuke.
