The winner is Kendrick lol. Eminem gets disrespected for being white but Kendrick has outdone him up similar stages of their careers and he's not about to drop albums as polarizing as Em post-2004.
Prime Eminem never got outrapped on his own shyt by a featured artists. :scust:

A double album in 2022:damn:

Nobody but Biggie has made a top to bottom CLASSIC Hip Hop album!

Not Pac
Not Nas (although I personally love Streets Disciple its not classic)
Not Hov

The closest would be Outkast with Speakerboxxx/The Love Below and thats debatable

Props to Kendrick for having the heart and confidence to attempt it. Looking forward to
It

Wu-Tang?

I thought Life After Death had some fluff :jbhmm:

It could be that Mr Morale is his more introspective or experimental music and Big Steppers is just bangers and radio joints

I feel like there's more liklihood of this being more consistent than your average double album just because he's been gone for so long, so presumably he's been recording for several years.

I mean, he was almost certainly dropping his album last year before covid delayed things, so he's probably recorded more stuff since.

But with double albums I think part of the fun is that they're not supposed to be consistent. It's a chance for artists to experiment more and try different stuff. I prefer double albums that lean more into being messy and eclectic.

Mr. Morale could be Kendrick’s album. While Big Steppers is also Kendrick’s album, but Kendrick is giving pg Lang, and the next generation of artist more shine. Big Steppers might be like what Jay did with Blueprint 3, or what Biggie did with the Junior Mafia album.

Could be like P.Diddy and the Fam album, or the usual DJ Khaled album as well. Basically I’m expecting Big Steppers to be a heavily featured project.

It might not be like any of the albums you named and just a title to get people excited for another weak album.

When he was promoting the album i believe he said (paraphrasing) it feature the next generation of music that’s going to carry the torch after him, and maybe even Kanye (i think he was talking about the fact he had Cole, Drake, and Cudi on it).

I tried googling when he said this, I can’t find it. But as a youngin anticipating the album at the time. I could of sworn i read him saying something like that in one of his interviews in a magazine or something.
