He's right. Kanye has reached the realm of celebrity where in overall pop culture Kendrick isn't touching him but he's not in that same space of musical relevance anymore.

This isn't a Kendrick fan's paragraphMan, I just slid through Spotify and DONDA has more streams than TPAB which came out in 2015. I'm a Kendrick fan, but he doesn't put out enough music to be more "relevant" than someone like Ye. He's not particularly innovative and he isn't ushering in some new generation of artists taking over the industry. He's just the current era "thinking man's" mainstream rapper. But his music isn't really moving people like that and you know it. We just appreciate the quality of the music and the lyricism-- but he's always lacked that extra something that the real icons have.
