Baffles me that people don't this album is even good. shyt is great man. Not trying to convince anybody either. Just saw somebody on twitter have the nerve to equate Drake's run of mediocrity to Kendrick's output (they didnt specify if they just meant this album). Insinuating Kendrick is falling off is insanity.

Ain't nothing smart about this kind of music. Every rapper of every era has an album like this. Nas had his with Life is Good. Jay had 4:44, Mobb Deep with the Infamous. It's so many examples of this kind of work. Which is why I don't get the buzz for it. I respect Kendrick's grind and overall maturity, but.....this is just there like any other album.

If this album isn’t as good as TPAB or DAMN then technically he fell off.

It’s hilarious because all of Kendrick’s albums have substance to a degree that these guys are labeling as “smart”. But we were feeling those albums what makes THIS album different now that we aren’t feeling it as much as his previous albums?

i said "so called"

there are a lot of folks who do not listen to anything that isn't turn up/trap/thot/party shyt
anything with a modicum of lyricism turns them off

very few albums like this are in the mainstream in 2022 so i don't agree with saying it's just like any album
