Yeah at this point I will never get the whole Kendrick thing. The lyrics and the subject matter are quality but like the actual sounds of the music sounds so bad.

I don't think he's a plant but he seems to be hip-hop fans version of sticking your pinky in th air while you sip on some bullshyt tea you can't even spell. Just a way for niccas to smell their own farts.

You think he makes pretentious music for pompous people. Why is it out of the realm of possibility he simply makes music that sounds good...to him? I'm not saying his shyt isn't unorthodox or weird...because often times it is. But with that comes something that's fresh and wholly unique in a soundscape littered with a lot of the samey-sounding music. He's still giving yall conventional shyt on this though...Savior, Rich Spirit, Purple Hearts...any could easily be a single. bytch, are you happy for me?

Another breh already mentioned it but yeah, he at least has to close or open his concert with this one. Just makes sense. They sound like some damn Nubian angels. Reminds me of "For Sale".

Kendrick is EXCELLENT at expertly placing his features in positions to shine. Jay Rock on Money Trees (especially if he actually wrote Rock’s verse) Anna Wise & Bilal on These Walls. Rapsody on Complexion. Rihanna on Loyalty. MC Eiht on M.a.a.d City. All perfection

This was the video that leaked images showed he was shooting two years ago. This album has been in the making for a MINUTE

Makes me wonder what he's been doing since then since there were multiple pics of him being in studios, working with Pharrell recently and others. The guy who had the Heart 5 leak said it was recorded a couple years ago and was largely unchanged from then. I don't want a repeat of the second album rumor shyt after DAMN lol but...I saw on twitter Daylyt said the songs he was played before release weren't on the album. He said another is coming but has since deleted the tweet.

Would make sense to drop off your final album for TDE and then quickly get your fully pglang/Interscope album out while you have the momentum. Tour has already been announced and it goes until mid December. I can def imagine him dropping again somewhere within that space.

I mean if Nas can drop two albums in a year then Kendrick can too. I’m all for it.


Although part of me thinks an album as emotionally EXHAUSTING as this would wipe the artist completely out and he’d need at LEAST two more years to recharge creatively.

Spot on. It shows that he or someone in that camp is a student of the craft. Everything seems so intentional. Even if you don’t necessarily vibe with his music you at least gotta respect the erudition. Goddamn Thundercat? Sam Dew? Kodak Black!? The shyt is always interesting without feeling forced.

Songs that could kill it on summertime radio: Die Hard, Rich Spirit, Silent Hill. TDE would have to be tremendously stupid to not release 2 out of these 3 as singles.
