he actually gets jumped. sherene set him up. it's the whole reason why him and his friends retaliated and his partna's brother got shot in the process.

all of this is mentioned in the skits and portions of the songs...

the 1st song isn't the beginning of the story, btw... it's the middle, the 2nd song is the beginning....

 oh so he was giving a sneak peek at what was coming next :wow: this nikka need to direct the new school version of boys in the hood

fukk yall nikkaz "backstreet freestyle" is nice, i love that track just like i love the song "cole world" on j cole album, they are nothin like the rest of the album but they give a different energy to the albums that i really like, and it was a hugh part of the theme of the story

That whole "story" shyt sounds :whoo: shyt just seems like one big ass reach to me, you nikkas really think Kendrick actually sat down and constructed an urban novel before recording the tracks :comeon:

No you're just not paying attention. This album definitely follows a theme and I think what I posted is dead on. Is this what hip hop has come to though? When has it become so outrageous or out of the realm of possibility for rappers to do theme albums? I swear some of yall say some shyt that makes me think yall just look at this genre like fast food bullshyt and when a nikka like Kendrick drops a meaningful cohesive album that follows an obvious theme its looked as a propostious. I know some of yall never heard skits before on albums but they're a dead giveaways for themed albums. It seems like if it doesn't bang in the trunk most of yall aint listening or just skip when you missing the very thing that ties the album together.

in m.a.a.d city the way the beat and kendricks lyrics were influenced by a bird in hand is truly special :ohlawd:
