better than life is good simply because that album is overhyped on here. hooks were lacking on some songs but the songs that are good are great. sadly, i cant say any of the songs on life is good stand out as much as some of the best on here. not a knock at nas but kendrick had more to prove on this album imo while all nas had to do was drop. i like how most arent throwing the classic on this one 4/5 pretty good can see myself bumping this for a while

Yet earlier this morning in this thread you said your definition of a classic is something that you will find yourself listening to 10 years after it's release...

:comeon:

Breh. Me just bringining it up has made me want to download the album and listen. It isnt in my memory like that...but lord knows if The Real Slim Shady and the rest of this album comes on...Im yappin every lyric like I'm back in elementary school, during the summer helping my mom hustle selling clothing out of her Plymouth Grand Voyager. :takedat:

Personally, I feel singles are a big part of an album too. Swimming Pools while good...cmon

Saying GKMC is a classic is putting it in the same level as the documentary.

:comeon:

Good album but classic? Same level as the documentary? :stopitslime:

Lol dude the album ain't classic calm down. its barely been out for a day let it breath.

hmm this is a first somebody ever said The Documentary was classic.

Such an angelic meaningful album. Cant imagine who would have bad things to say about this. If this album is bad, whats good. Not only is he dropping classic beats and rhymes but hes also converting demons to Christ. All in one album. :lawd:

I never got that :ahh::ohlawd:"wow, I'm listening to greatness right now" feeling with this album, and I think Kendrick is certainly capable of exactly that... nothing on here gave me that :lawd: like when I first heard "World's An Addiction", "Stay" or "Unforgivable Youth", "Form Follows Function" etc.

Why are people always trying to compair albums to others like.. Its not better than LIG or this or that? Its a very good debut from Kendrick lets just hope he keeps building.. Props to K.Dot for giving Hip Hop a real West Coast album.. Best since DA IMO...

This a 4-4.5/5 CD. I know there are a lot of people who are hating, but for us Kendrick fans, he has blessed with some dope shyt.

5-10 years from now when you throw the cd in, your gonna still have that :krs::krs: and be like "damn Lamar really did bless us"

I'll probably get negged to bolivia for saying this but there is so many tracks on GKMC I'd prefer listening to

I mean what's so good about it ? Yeah he's spitting his guts off, lyricism is out of this world

but the flow is meh, he's not riding the beat, beat is boring, song overall is a fine lyrical exercise but poor musically

I'll take Money Trees and many other tracks over World's An Addiction any day of the week

I never understood the hype for that Nas album, some tracks are great, don't get me wrong but there's so many tracks were he's just spitting and doesn't care about the form of the song and goes off using whatever flow whether it fits the beat or not

this right here though... this is such a refined product, every beats, every sounds, every skits serves its purpose, there's an harmony to it that I could never find on LIG
