the Good Kid hook is just basically this

Roy Ayers - We Live In Brooklyn - YouTube

i didnt realize the sample until i was playing 2k13 last night and it came on

Nice. Cant listen cause i'm at work. But if it's anything like Smif N Wessuns "We Live in Brooklyn baby" chant on Home Sweet Home then it makes sense for Pharells part. Still...it is annoying to me.

Finally listened to the whole thing uninterrupted....

I feel like it's an exceptional album...It felt like I was listening to a classic Outkast release...It might be the most impressive debut since College Dropout..I'm not sure how "groundbreaking" it is and I can't see it spawning a bunch of imitations, because some of the themes and lyrics require too much effort and most n1ggas are gonna wanna take the easy route and try to copy a 2 Chainz...Maybe if I was like 20 and newer to hip hop I would feel that it was more groundbreaking..But to me it feels like more of a return to some of the greatness of the past...

Mos def a top 5 release of 2012 and one of the best releases to come out of the West in a minute....

I feels good to see emcees atleast giving effort....So salute the lil n1gga...

:salute:

Best release since College Dropout yet you cant even go out on a whim to say its undisputably the album of the year and best west album since. :rudy:.

Be rational brehs :why:.

There was a song on the snippets that's now on here. It had some electric piano beat and kendrick was rapping like he was crying. Anyone know the name?

Reading is fundamental

I didn't say that.. I said it might be the best debut since CD...

Key words that you ignored "might be" and "debut"

What the games been missing :jawalrus:

I ain't one to call albums classic right after listening to them but this shyt is something special.

First classic the West Coast dropped since The Documentary :lawd:

Can't call this a classic yet. Album of the year definitely, a much needed breath of fresh air from all this generic trapping/swag bullshyt that's polluted this forum and radio/tv.

And I'd actually put this ahead of "The Documentary". I think this album will raise the bar for the West Coast going forward. Might be seeing more people try to experiment and go outside the box.

:snoop: nice breakdown, doesn't change the fact its trash :yeshrug:

:wtf:

:mindblown:

An Soul would be a better fit on a smooth banger with a Janet sample... about girls over drake?:troll:

Yes he would. Drake delivery is cringeworthy, his lyrics are bland and his verses are repetitive. Soul 10 times the rapper. Listen to ''Lust Demons'' if you think he can't flow over smooth beats about girls.
